Ancient Evil: Scream of the Mummy

Somewhere in the heat of a Mexican summer, an ancient Aztec pyramid dedicated to the rain god Tlaloc is uncovered, revealing a trove of artifacts and a remarkably well-preserved mummy. The finds are shipped to a near-empty university in the United States, where six archaeology students and their professor Cyphers prepare the relics for study and display.

From the start, tension crackles as the group digs into the past: a reckless moment when Morris steals an amulet from the mummy’s wrist and passes it to a beautiful blonde girl, Janine, to impress her for a date. They share a forbidden kiss, blissfully unaware that Norman, who watches from the brush, harbors a hidden crush on Stacey. In the dorm, Janine confesses to Stacey that the amulet was taken, admitting Morris’s misstep, though the trouble has only just begun.

The night intensifies as Morris and Janine head to the campus compound; Morris attempts a legal theft, sneaking into the kitchen to grab beers, while the others confront him about the priceless amulet and the escalating chaos it could unleash. Don, Arlando, and Norman soon reveal a deeper twist: Norman is not just a student but a descendant of Aztec priests who needs the amulet for a ritual to Tlaloc. The mummy erupts with intent, brutally hunting the students one by one as they realize the ritual could unleash cataclysmic destruction. In a chilling turn, Stacey witnesses the professor’s car vandalized and then watches in horror as Scott is killed by the mummy right before her eyes. Norman, now disguised as an Aztec priest, demands Stacey’s blood—the virgin sacrifice required to complete the rite. The mummy abducts Stacey and takes her to the museum, where she is strapped to a sacrificial table, her fate hanging by a thread.

Don escapes the chaos, gripping his knife as he pieces together Norman’s diabolical plan. Realizing that the ritual hinges on Stacey’s fate, Don makes a desperate push to stop it. He smashes the amulet into fragments on the ground, a symbolic and physical strike that halts the ceremony.
