A powerful extraterrestrial race of robots invades and occupies Earth, seeking human knowledge and ingenuity. Humanity is confined to their homes, and going outside could mean execution at the hands of robot sentries.

In a small rural town in England, teenager Sean Flynn begins his desperate search for his missing father, Danny, who disappeared just after the invasion. He distributes hand-drawn missing posters hidden in fruits and tennis balls, hoping to find any leads.

Sean's friend Nathan attempts to fix his PlayStation when a young boy named Connor accidentally shocks him. This mishap reveals that Nathan's electronic implant is disabled, which sparks an idea for the group to disable their implants for safer exploration.

The group decides to search the local museum, and from there, Sean proposes they look for his father at the school. Records of captured individuals may lead them to Danny's location, igniting their hope.

The children discover that Danny is alive, but their joy quickly turns to despair when they are captured. They are taken to a room equipped with a deep scanner, where Robin Smythe interrogates them about their disabled implants.

During the interrogation, Sean refuses to give up information about how they disabled their implants, even when faced with the torture of his uncle. His strong will ultimately leads him to undergo the deep scan himself as he sustains his defiance.

Just when Sean's fate seems sealed, Connor bursts in with a makeshift fireworks launcher, creating chaos and facilitating their daring escape. The children rush to hide in a bowling alley as they consider their next move.

After successfully turning off their implants again, the children rush to the hotel where Sean surprises everyone by somehow gaining control over a gigantic robot. This breakthrough gives them newfound hope in their fight against their captors.

The children meet a woman named Monique, who is also looking to disable her implant. In exchange for knowledge, they are directed to seek a Stone Circle and meet Swanny, who can help them remove their implants.

Upon receiving news that Sean's mother has been taken hostage at a looming castle, the group decides to mount a daring rescue. They navigate the dangers that come with the approach to the castle while being pursued by a robot.

In a shocking twist during the chaos at the castle, Sean realizes that the black implant gives him control over the robots. He uses this newfound ability strategically to defend against the threats posed by the enemy.

Kate, Sean's mother, makes a bold escape on horseback, triggering a chase that draws the attention of Smythe's team. In the midst of the confusion, Sean manages to turn the giant robot's weapons against the attacking forces.

As the battle intensifies, Sean takes control of the giant robot, directing its attack on the insect-like clankers that threaten them. Against all odds, he turns the tide of the fight, successfully dismantling the threat.

Reunited with his mother, Sean and his friends uncover a secret human camp hidden in an old tin mine using a decoded message. However, just as they celebrate, the robots arrive, prompting a critical decision.

Sean reinstalls his black implant and commandeers a robot craft to initiate a collision with the evil robot mothership. The resulting destruction puts an end to the invasion and secures humanity's safety, for now.
