Rhythm of Destiny

Bee lands in Taiwan to finalize a business deal with triad leader Hark. Hark pushes cocaine as part of the arrangement, but Bee refuses. When Hark treats it as a joke, Bee pulls a gun and a fight erupts as Hark's henchman closes in, and Bee slashes one man with a sword.

Bee returns to Hong Kong and tells Kwan he wants to leave crime behind. Kwan, however, plans to return to Hong Kong secretly by boat to continue hiding from past charges, setting up a collision of loyalties.

Bee reassures his mother that he has forsaken his criminal life and moves his family into a 1,400 square foot condo. His mother still disapproves of his past and initially kicks him out, highlighting the tension around his new life.

Bee rekindles his relationship with Hung and reopens ties with Kwan and Superman. Hung suggests acquiring a nightclub, and Superman positions himself as manager while Kevin appears as a part-time singer at the pub.

Kevin auditions for a local singing contest after being encouraged by his classmates. The audition marks the beginning of his featured career and puts him on the path toward greater fame.

Bee, Hung, Superman, and Kwan visit Yip Hon-leung, a contest judge, and attempt to bribe him to guarantee Kevin's victory. The plan tests their ethics and foreshadows danger looming over Kevin's future.

During the chaotic scene, Hung, Superman, and Kwan assault Yip while Bee tries to intervene, and Kevin is arrested for assault and bribery. In the end, Bee pleads guilty to the charges and is convicted while Kevin is released.

Police raid Bee's nightclub and locate cocaine hidden in his office, leading to drug possession charges alongside prior offenses. Bee's mother faints in court and later dies in hospital, worsening the family tragedy.

Bee pleads guilty and receives a sentence of 2 years and 9 months in prison, with his condo seized by the court. The family endures a crushing setback as Bee begins his long imprisonment.

While Bee serves his sentence, Kevin's singing career accelerates after the interest from record producer Peter Lai. Hung visits Bee in prison, bringing a photo book that chronicles Kevin's rising fame.

Upon release, Bee reunites with Hung and Superman and plans to see Kevin, but producer Lai blocks their access to the birthday party to protect Kevin's career. Bee leaves a cross necklace as a gift to Kevin, a symbol of his changed life.

Hung arranges a ticket for Kevin's upcoming concert in Taiwan, signaling a final crossing of paths for the brothers. The film hints at unfolding tensions overseas as Kevin's fortunes continue to rise.

In Taiwan, Kwan, hiding from his past and owing a debt to Hark, faces pressure from his creditor. Hark suggests using Kevin's kidnapping as a way to clear his debts, escalating the danger around Kevin.

Bee attends Kevin's Taiwan concert, where Kevin spots his brother in the audience. Backstage, Kwan kidnaps Kevin, and Bee intervenes by killing Kwan, setting off a brutal confrontation with Hark.

Hark arrives and stabs Bee as Kevin fights back, and Kevin ultimately kills Hark. Bee dies in Kevin's arms, completing the brothers' tragic arc and sealing the film's emotional climax.
