Reform School Girl

Donna is picked up on a double date with Vince. The car they ride in turns out to be stolen, setting a tense tone for the night. An argument erupts in the backseat, and Vince orders the other couple to get out, leaving Donna with him. He bluntly warns that he would murder anyone who ever turned on him.

Police attempt to pull Vince over for speeding, but he accelerates away in a dangerous chase. In the pursuit, Vince strikes and kills a pedestrian and then flees the scene. Donna is left terrified and alone in the car, realizing her life may be in danger.

Fearing exposure, Donna refuses to identify Vince as the car's driver. She is deemed a juvenile delinquent and is sent to a state school for girls. The incident seals her fate away from the outside world and into institutional life.

Donna attends a history class at the reform school taught by David Lindsay, who is also the school's psychologist. He believes she is a fundamentally good person who could straighten out with help. Donna does not reveal her secret to him, though he remains hopeful about her potential.

The police continue the accident investigation, trying to piece together what happened. Vince remains troubled that Donna might eventually tell authorities what occurred. He grows more determined to control the narrative surrounding the incident.

Vince has his girlfriend make a phone call to the police, posing as Donna. She identifies herself as Donna and claims a girl in the reform school is a thief. The ruse sows doubt and starts turning the other girls against Donna.

Following the false tip, the other girls come to believe that Donna is a police informer. Suspicion and fear spread within the reform school, isolating Donna from her peers. The atmosphere grows tense as alliances shift.

Roxy attacks Donna in a confrontation sparked by the informer rumor. Donna defends herself with a pair of scissors, escalating the conflict and drawing more attention to her supposed guilt. David pleads for a careful, fair approach to the investigation.

School authorities and administrators begin to question David Lindsay’s judgment, their view of his relationship with Donna, and his overall ability to help students. The scrutiny foreshadows a harsher decision about Donna’s future at the school.

Concluding the investigation, the superintendent decides that Donna is a high-risk student and should be transferred to the state prison. This marks a harsh turn in her treatment, driven by the social dynamics and fear surrounding the case. Vince, still intent on removing the threat, attempts to break into the school to kill her but is thwarted.
