Reaper

The former cult leader escapes the electric chair and reappears as a supernatural killer known as the Reaper. His release marks the start of a brutal spree across the county as he targets those he deems sinners. The threat of the Reaper sets the tone for the entire film.

Natalie and Bill check into a motel after hitchhiking, posing as newlyweds and sharing a night together. She drugs and binds him, stealing his wallet and car keys. The Reaper then kills Bill with a scythe, ending the couple's tryst.

Natalie calls her mother and learns she needs money for surgery or hospice will be canceled. The call deepens her motive and pushes her toward desperate acts. She vows to obtain the funds and pay for the operation.

At a diner, Rob's plan for his failing protege Brad unfolds as Natalie watches Brad tip a waitress. She begins to sabotage him by tampering with his wheels and later luring him for a ride. She escapes with his money and gun after a tense exchange.

Natalie discovers Brad is a drug mule, and his dealer Jack is staying at the same motel as Bill. The Reaper's influence extends as two hit men enter the motel and are killed by him. The tension tightens as the players converge on Natalie.

The motel owner attempts to rape Natalie, but the Reaper intervenes and kills him. The body count grows as the threat circulates around the motel. Natalie and her cohort realize they are now targets.

Jack and Brad decide to help Natalie, forming a fragile alliance against the Reaper. Together they search for a way to survive and possibly take down the killer. The motel becomes a crossroads for their fates.

A policeman named Banks arrives and takes the trio into custody. The Reaper lures Banks to follow him with a shotgun, then kills him after a motel search. The group realizes the danger is closer than ever.

The group is locked in a supply closet for safety, but they eventually escape and decide to join forces to fight the Reaper. They resolve to locate the money and drugs to survive. The motel's labyrinthine halls become their battleground.

They attempt to flee in Jack's truck, but Natalie had removed the distributor cap earlier, blocking their escape. The trio agrees to put their differences aside to locate the stash that could turn the tables. Their plan sets the stage for a final confrontation.

Rob corners Brad, but Natalie drops a fire extinguisher on Rob's head, rendering him briefly incapacitated. Rob survives and slaps Natalie, escalating the violence. Brad finishes him off with his own knife, severing that threat.

Brad shoots Jack in a bid to claim the money and drugs, and then is himself killed when the Reaper arrives. The death tightens the net around Natalie as the killer closes in. The revolving danger leaves Natalie's fate in precarious balance.

The Reaper captures Natalie and brings her to a church where he torments her, threatening to send her to hell. The scene sharpens the film's religious horror and isolation. It looks like all hope is gone.

Jack returns to save Natalie by drowning the Reaper in a bucket of water, saving her life. He dies after delivering a final message for Natalie to start her life anew. Natalie, shaken but alive, calls her mother to say she is on the way and leaves with Jack's truck.

The Reaper survives the drowning and rises to continue reaping, leaving the audience with a chilling sense of unfinished business. Natalie drives away, picking up a hitchhiker and wondering how much time she has left. The cycle of terror, it seems, is far from over.
