Andre the Butcher (2005) – Full Plot Summary & Ending Explained

Read the complete plot breakdown of Andre the Butcher (2005), including all key story events, major twists, and the ending explained in detail. Discover what really happened—and what it all means.

Four junior college students — James “Jimbo,” Cookie, Jasmine Tyner April Billingsley, and Kristy — are driving along a deserted Florida road on their way to a cheerleading competition. As Jimbo drives, Cookie engages in sexual activity with him while Jasmine secretly watches from the backseat. Distracted, Jimbo swerves and crashes into a utility pole, leaving the car damaged and stranded. In their search for help, they stumble upon a vacant-looking house that is actually the home of Andre the Butcher Ron Jeremy, though he is not present at that moment.

With no immediate help in sight, Jimbo and Kristy decide to return to the car, while Cookie and Jasmine stay behind. Cookie confronts Jasmine about her closeted sexuality, and the two share a tense, intimate moment. The house soon becomes a trap as escaped convicts Tober and Hoss force their way inside, pulling the group into the living room at gunpoint. Sheriff Cooper [Terry Mross] appears at the door, and in the chaos, Hoss orders Jasmine to answer it and to help him deal with the intruder. When the Sheriff steps inside, he is assaulted by Hoss and is left restrained in the fridge as the convicts drive off in his patrol car.

Outside, Jimbo and Kristy drift toward a moment of privacy, planning to kiss, when Andre the Butcher reappears and attacks them. He murders Kristy after luring her away and hurls a knife that pins Jimbo to a tree. Jimbo is saved by Deputy Hollingsworth, who is searching for the escaped convicts, and together they return toward the lodge. Meanwhile, Tober, Hoss, Cookie, and Jasmine are driving away in the Sheriff’s car and encounter Andre on the road; Andre overpowers them, dragging Tober out and killing him, forcing the others to flee back to the house.

Back inside, Jimbo arrives with Hollingsworth, and Hoss is handcuffed. Sheriff Cooper demands to be uncuffed, but Jasmine pleads with him not to. The TV in the house suddenly comes to life, revealing snippets of their sins—Kristy’s overeating and the Sheriff’s corruption—further unsettling the group. Andre then appears, kills the Sheriff, and Hollingsworth fires at him, but Andre escapes only to return and kill Jimbo and Cookie.

In the basement, Jasmine discovers that Andre is not human but something supernatural. A tale from the town’s past unfolds: in the 1950s, he was a normal man with a wife and daughter who ran a meat market. After a tragic accident claimed his family, he began murdering customers and selling their flesh. The townspeople lynched him, burying his body in a wooden box in a nearby field. His soul was sent to hell, but the devil chose him as a head recruiter on Earth. The demon’s earthly form can only be destroyed by blessing his grave, which requires a proper burial that never came.

Hoss, Jasmine, and Hollingsworth escape with two jugs of holy water blessed by Hoss, a former priest, and set out to bless Andre’s grave. They are pursued by Andre; the jugs are broken and the water spills. Hollingsworth is killed, and Hoss and Jasmine are wounded in the pursuit. Desperate, they reach the grave and, with Hoss unable to bless it himself, he asks Jasmine to aid him. He urinates as a substitute for water, and his improvised holy blessing finally destroys Andre. The film ends with Hoss and Jasmine surviving, though grievously injured, their fates left open in the aftermath of the horrific ordeal.
