In 1943, India is engulfed in the struggle for independence from British rule amidst the chaos of World War II. Subash Chandra Bose emerges as a pivotal figure, challenging traditional non-violent resistance led by Mahatma Gandhi and advocating for a more confrontational approach.

With the Imperial Japanese Army advancing in the Indo-China region, Subash Chandra Bose forms an alliance with Japan to strengthen the fight against British colonialism. The Indian National Army seeks to leverage this partnership to push towards Delhi and declare independence.

Jemadar Nawab Malik finds himself in a dire situation while stationed near the Indo-Burma border, facing fierce confrontations with British forces. During an escape attempt via a barge, he is shot and taken prisoner, leaving his fate uncertain.

Back in India, Julia, a celebrated film star, continues to dazzle audiences with her performances while grappling with the pressure of her fame. Zulfi, her devoted confidant, assists her with the challenges of stardom as they navigate the complexities of the film industry.

Rustom 'Rusi' Billimoria, a former action star whose career ended tragically, leads a production house that produces Julia's films. His position allows him to maintain influential relationships, particularly with Major General David Harding, the British commander.

During a gathering, Major General Harding discovers a royal sword belonging to a Maharajah, which ignites tension between him and the Maharajah. The Maharajah decides to send the sword to the Indo-Burma border, where it could aid the INA in their fight against the British.

Harding seizes the opportunity to send Julia and her troupe to bolster troop morale at the front lines. Despite initial hesitations from Billimoria, he is coerced into compliance when Harding threatens to withdraw vital film supplies.

While traveling by train to the front lines, Julia's troupe experiences chaos when a Japanese aerial attack strikes their location. This encounter leads to heavy casualties, and Julia ends up in a perilous situation where Malik, assumed to be escaped, steps in to protect her.

As Malik and Julia traverse the dangerous jungle, a complex relationship forms between them amid the tensions involving Malik's Japanese captive, Hiromichi. Julia's compassion begins to soften Malik's hardened demeanor, leading to a tender, albeit fleeting, romance.

Back in India, Julia's feelings for Malik surge, prompting her advocacy for his recognition in front lines performances. However, Billimoria discovers their connection during an air raid, leading him to confront Malik, revealing a deeper emotional turmoil.

Zulfi, acting as a spy for the INA, faces severe repercussions for his explosive remarks against the British during a performance. He is ultimately killed by Major Williams, an event that deepens Julia's resolve to defy British rule and honor Zulfi's sacrifice.

Determined to fulfill Zulfi's mission, Julia and Malik work together to reclaim the sword intended for the INA. They find themselves cornered by British forces, leading to a desperate and dangerous confrontation on a bridge.

In a heart-wrenching moment, Malik encourages Julia to escape to safety while drawing enemy fire toward himself. He sustains fatal injuries, ensuring Julia's survival but marking a tragic end to their blossoming relationship.

Driven by guilt and a desire for redemption, Billimoria takes it upon himself to ensure that Julia's wish is fulfilled. He claims the sword and leads an explosive attack against British troops, cementing his commitment to India's independence.
