Predator: Badlands

Dek, a Yautja runt, pledges that hunting the Kalisk will earn him his father’s approval. He sets Genna as the proving ground for his worth, aware that his clan expects more from him. This vow triggers the dangerous journey ahead.

Njohrr commands Dek's brother Kwei to kill him, deeming Dek too weak for the clan. Kwei defies the order and remotely activates a transport to take Dek to Genna. Dek remains unaware of the deeper family conflict as events move toward Genna.

Kwei’s rebellion is crushed when Njohrr executes him before Dek's eyes. Dek feels betrayed by his own family and the brutal politics of the clan. The attempted journey to Genna is set in motion amid the fallout.

Dek crash-lands on Genna and must contend with dangerous flora and fauna. He reluctantly allies with Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android whose team failed while pursuing the Kalisk. Together they begin their dangerous pursuit of the Kalisk.

Thia extends an offer to help Dek track the Kalisk, joining his quest on Genna. She reveals her team's destruction as they tried to capture the Kalisk, underscoring the risks involved. Dek accepts her aid, forming a fragile alliance.

A native creature named Bud joins the group and marks Dek with its saliva, signaling a bond between them. Bud's presence hints at a larger connection to Genna’s wildlife and the Kalisk. The team presses on toward their objective.

Thia’s sister Tessa is reactivated and begins tracking Dek’s group on Genna. Tessa later reaches Dek’s crash ship and takes his weaponry, escalating the pursuit. Weyland-Yutani’s interest in the Kalisk complicates the hunt.

After discovering the remains of her Weyland-Yutani team, Thia attempts repairs and reaches out to the corporation for assistance. The lack of straightforward loyalty inside Weyland-Yutani adds tension to the mission. Thia remains focused on protecting Dek and the mission.

Dek ignites an oil spill to attract the Kalisk, hoping to gain the upper hand. The Kalisk and Dek clash; Dek manages to sever the Kalisk’s head, but the creature regenerates and defeats him, sparing his life for the moment. The encounter draws Weyland-Yutani’s attention back toward Genna.

Weyland-Yutani arrive with forces and capture Dek and the Kalisk, locking them away for study. Thia’s presence complicates the corporation’s plans as she tries to influence events from within. Tessa’s experiments on Dek begin in this containment environment.

Tessa conducts cruel experiments on Dek, viewing him as a subject to test. Thia intervenes, but Tessa brands her weakness and contemplates deactivation. The tension between the two androids deepens the danger for Dek.

Thia helps Dek break free from captivity. Dek learns Bud is the Kalisk’s child, which reframes his purpose and loyalty. He resolves to rescue both Thia and the captured Kalisk from Weyland-Yutani.

Without advanced weapons, Dek fashions organic weapons from Genna’s environment and leads an assault on the Weyland-Yutani base with Bud. Thia aids the Kalisk’s escape, causing significant destruction to the facility. The Kalisk’s freedom shifts the balance of power in the fight.

Tessa engages the Kalisk in a power loader mech and is ultimately devoured. She still inflicts a final blow by killing the Kalisk with cryogenic grenades, then tries to kill Thia, prompting Dek to destroy her and reclaim his weapon. Bud destroys Tessa’s severed head in the aftermath.

Dek returns to Yautja Prime with Thia and Bud, presenting Tessa’s skull as a trophy and demanding his father’s cloak. He defeats Njohrr in a duel after his father refuses the reward, and Bud bites off Njohrr’s head to claim the cloak. As they prepare for further conflict, a large ship appears overhead, claimed by Dek to be his mother.
