Popeye's Revenge

In a peaceful coastal town in the United Kingdom, a young boy named Johnny was born with distinctive and exaggerated features—particularly enormous, muscular forearms and a prominent chin. His unusual appearance made him the frequent target of relentless bullying, especially since he often dressed in a sailor outfit, reinforcing his nickname, Popeye.

One fateful day, during a confrontation where he sees his close friend being hurt by a bully, Johnny reaches a breaking point. Overwhelmed by rage and despair, he ends up strangling one of his tormentors, an act so violent that his eyes pop out of their sockets. This tragic incident prompts his parents to take drastic measures: they hide him away in their basement to protect him from the community’s wrath. During this time, he receives mysterious comforting notes from an unseen friend, with messages slipping beneath the door, which deepen the sense of mystery surrounding his isolation.

However, fear and anger soon grip the townspeople, who, believing that Johnny is a dangerous monster responsible for the murders, form a vengeful mob. Their fury leads to a devastating act — setting the family’s home ablaze. Tragically, Johnny’s parents perish inside the fire, while he narrowly escapes but then seemingly drowns in a nearby lake, leaving the town convinced that the nightmare has ended.

Years pass, and the story picks up with a group of young adults—Tara (played by Emily Mogilner), Dylan (Connor Powles), and Donna (Danielle Ronald)—who inherit the house where the tragedy previously occurred. Oblivious to its dark history, they plan to convert the property into a summer camp. However, as they begin to settle in, strange and unsettling events transpire. Members of the group start disappearing under mysterious and gruesome circumstances, fueling the growing sense of dread.

Emerging from the shadows is Johnny, who now operates under the alias Popeye. Driven by vengeance and endowed with immense strength, he begins a brutal killing spree, targeting anyone who enters his old home. His methods are inventive and savage, often using nautical tools such as anchors and ropes to carry out his deadly attacks.

Adding to the horror, Olive, Johnny’s sister, who has been hiding in the basement all along, becomes his accomplice. Together, they orchestrate a series of terrifying murders, with Olive assisting her brother in carrying out his violent plans. As the number of victims grows smaller, Tara and Dylan devise a desperate plan to confront the murderous duo.

In the final moments of the story, a fierce confrontation ensues. Olive is killed in the chaos, and Tara manages to use a lawn mower to gruesomely dispatch Johnny, ending his reign of terror — or so it seems. Despite this, Johnny reappears unexpectedly, launching an attack on Tara in a terrifying climax that leaves the fate of the survivors uncertain, emphasizing the lingering darkness of the haunted house and its tragic past.
