Pinocchio: A True Story

Geppetto carves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio and brings him to life with a blessing from the fairy Lucilda. Pinocchio discovers he can talk and move like a real boy. Because he is the only talking puppet, he and Geppetto live in hiding.

Pinocchio expresses a wish to explore the world beyond the workshop. He is forced to stay hidden, as he is unique in the world. Geppetto supports him while worrying about danger outside.

After a commotion, Pinocchio and Tybalt rescue Bella when her carriage loses control. They pull her to safety and avert a disaster. Bella is an acrobat in Mangiafuoco's circus, which catches Pinocchio's interest.

Mangiafuoco recruits Pinocchio to join the circus, with Tybalt acting as his talent agent. Pinocchio quickly becomes a star alongside Bella. This marks his departure from hiding into show business.

Pinocchio falls in love with Bella as they perform together. Bella's response is guarded, and she ultimately rejects him, adding emotional complexity. Pinocchio resolves to become a real boy to win her affection.

To learn how to become real, Pinocchio and Tybalt set out to find the fairy Lucilda. They narrowly escape Mangiafuoco's criminal accomplices along the way. The trip shifts Pinocchio's focus from performance to transformation.

Lucilda explains she cannot simply make Pinocchio real. Instead, he becomes human by acting human through his choices. The fairy emphasizes that humanity is earned, not granted.

Pinocchio and Tybalt return to the circus. A detective arrives to investigate a series of robberies and arrests Pinocchio as a suspect. Tybalt helps him escape and warns Bella of danger.

Pinocchio, Bella, Geppetto, and Tybalt hatch a plan to stage one final performance that reveals Mangiafuoco's crimes. They orchestrate the show so the truth is presented to the audience. They prepare to out the villain publicly.

During the final act, Mangiafuoco erupts in anger and sets the circus tent on fire. Bella becomes trapped inside and Pinocchio fights through the flames to reach her. The rescue effort leads to a dramatic and dangerous turning point.
