In the late 1980s, a South African township trembles under the lingering shadows of apartheid, its streets echoing with political unrest and the fragile hope sparked by Nelson Mandela’s imminent return. ​Otelo Buthelezi, a sixteen‑year‑old with a restless spirit, spends his days navigating the volatile streets alongside his younger brother ​Ntwe and their close friend ​New Year.
