Once More

In the scenic hills of Ooty, Vijay is introduced as a young businessman whose sole aim in life is to have fun. He sits at the helm as the managing director of a large tea estate, but his carefree lifestyle and constant partying push the company toward steep losses. To steady the ship, Vijay invites his father, who is abroad in the United States, to India to sign some crucial documents. Tragedy strikes when that father dies in a plane crash on the way home, leaving Vijay facing a financial and personal crisis.

To keep the paperwork moving, Vijay’s maternal uncle, Ashok, suggests that an older man pretend to be Vijay’s father for a while. They visit a seniors’ home in Coimbatore and meet Selvam, one of the residents, who agrees to step into the role. Selvam is struck by Vijay’s casual approach to life and sees in him a reflection of his own youth. His affection for Vijay grows, and he treats him like a son, a bond that will shape the story’s emotional core.

As Selvam settles into his faux fatherhood, he reveals a quietly moving backstory: long ago, he was married to Shantha, and the couple have lived apart for 34 years. Moved by this memory, Vijay resolves to find Shantha and try to heal the rift between them, hoping to reunite a fractured family. Meanwhile, Kavitha, a striking new presence, joins Vijay’s company and speaks to him in her own bold, engaging way. The two quickly fall in love, but their romance soon runs into trouble from Kavitha’s mother, who resists the match.

The narrative threads entwine as Vijay tries to help Selvam and Shantha reconnect, while Selvam endeavors to bring Vijay and Kavitha together. Kavitha’s past surfaces in a painful moment: she initially attempts to kill Vijay to avenge her sister Anju, who had taken her own life after Vijay rejected her love. The turning point comes with the steadfast support of Ashok and Selvam, as Kavitha begins to see Vijay’s true heart and learns to forgive. The film moves toward reconciliation rather than tragedy, with the relationship between Kavitha and Vijay maturing into understanding and trust.

In a touching denouement, Selvam and Shantha meet once more and decide to marry, reclaiming a second chance at love. The story wraps on a hopeful note, underscoring forgiveness, family bonds, and the possibility of new beginnings even after long separations. The film leaves audiences with a warm sense of closure, where love, reconciliation, and loyalty triumph in the end.
