Their wealthy father remarries and ejects Siri’s mother and children from the home. Siri is an infant and Sivaramakrishna is already a 13-year-old left to protect his sister. The siblings inherit a small plot of farmland where they will later build their mother’s grave.

Sivaramakrishna builds his mother’s grave on the family farmland. Zamindar Muddu Krishnayya claims the land since the loan their mother took hadn’t been repaid. He demands the grave be removed and threatens the family to force compliance.

The local station master secures a promise that the loan will be repaid. Sivaramakrishna pledges to work day and night to repay the debt and preserve the grave and land. Muddu Krishnayya agrees, provided the family stays on track.

Through relentless labor, Sivaramakrishna turns the farm around and becomes a successful farmer. Siri grows up, attends school, and eventually earns an engineering degree in a nearby town. Their hard work reshapes their lives.

In the present day, Lalitha, Siri’s school friend, comes to help prepare for her wedding. Santosh arrives with his mother Janaki; he’s from a London upbringing and a wealthy family. The contrast between their worlds foreshadows the story’s central romance.

At first Siri is annoyed by Santosh’s teasing, but his kind nature wins her over. Santosh admires her resilience and humility, and they decide to marry.

Santosh’s mother Janaki learns of their relationship and rejects the union, preferring Dolly, the wealthy daughter of her business partner JP. The plan is to secure Dolly’s marriage to Santosh.

On the day of the wedding, Janaki humiliates Siri and Sivaramakrishna, accusing them of entrapment. Sivaramakrishna is enraged but leaves with Siri to avoid disrupting Lalitha’s wedding, sacrificing confrontation for family harmony.

Hearing what happened, Santosh returns to the village and pleads with Sivaramakrishna for a chance. He agrees to prove himself by working on the farm and competing to grow more grain than Sivaramakrishna by season’s end.

Krishnayya and his allies try to sabotage Santosh’s efforts and derail his relationship with Siri. Despite interference, Santosh perseveres and gradually surpasses Sivaramakrishna in grain production.

During celebrations, Krishnayya’s men kidnap Siri to force her into marriage with his son. In the ensuing struggle, Santosh kills Krishnayya’s son, and Sivaramakrishna takes the blame to protect Siri and Santosh.

Sivaramakrishna is imprisoned for five years for the murder. Upon his release, he is greeted by Siri and Santosh at the gate as they prepare to begin a life together, with his sacrifice finally acknowledged.

On the day of his release, Sivaramakrishna finds Siri and Santosh waiting at the village gate in wedding attire. Janaki and Prakash accompany them, offering apology and respect for the sacrifice he made.

Siri and Santosh joyfully marry in front of family and villagers, marking the healing of old wounds and the joining of two very different worlds. The community celebrates a new beginning born from love and sacrifice.
