In the shadowed underbelly of Los Angeles, a group of high‑school students drift through a world that feels both familiar and oddly distorted. Their days unfold in cramped diners, graffiti‑splashed alleys, and a modest coffee spot known only as The Hole, where the ordinary buzz of teenage life is constantly tinged with a surreal undercurrent. The city itself seems to breathe a quiet, off‑kilter rhythm, turning everyday moments into puzzles that hint at something larger lurking just beyond perception.

At the center of this tapestry is Dark Smith, an introspective 18‑year‑old with a passion for cinema and a yearning for genuine connection. Living with his hardworking mother, Dark wrestles with a persistent sense of alienation while navigating the tangled emotions of first love. He finds himself drawn to Mel, a charismatic and complex young woman whose fluid identity pulls her between different lovers, and to Lucifer, Mel’s vibrant and unapologetically bold girlfriend.
