No Way Up

The ill-fated Vista Airlines flight departs from LAX with a mix of passengers onboard, including Ava, her boyfriend Jed, and several others. Among them are a young girl named Rosa and her grandparents, with the group unaware of the impending disaster they would soon face.

Midway through the flight, the plane hits a flock of birds, leading to a catastrophic failure. The aircraft crashes into the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the tragic death of both pilots and many passengers, leaving only a handful of survivors.

The surviving passengers, including Ava, Jed, Kyle, and others, find themselves trapped inside an air pocket in the rear of the submerged fuselage. They struggle to comprehend their dire situation as the plane sinks deeper into the ocean.

Brandon, Ava's bodyguard, bravely attempts to retrieve an oxygen tank but encounters a tiger shark. Despite his efforts to escape the shark's attack, he is ultimately dragged underwater, leaving the survivors without their leader.

Kyle suffers a severe arm injury during the crash, prompting Mardy 'Nana', Rosa's grandmother and a former army nurse, to step in and provide emergency care. She improvises a splint to stabilize Kyle's injury, showcasing her resourcefulness amidst the chaos.

As the survivors argue about their next steps, Ava figures they only have a limited amount of air before it runs out. Fearing the structural integrity of the plane will fail, they decide to leave their current location and swim to the surface.

The group resolves to leave the wrecked plane, with Rosa suggesting they could use air bubbles from inflatable life vests to deter any sharks. They begin searching for diving gear, weighing their desperate options in hopes of survival.

A helicopter arrives to search for the missing plane as debris floats to the surface. Rescue divers are dispatched to the location but face a dangerous encounter with the tiger shark lurking near the wreck.

While the survivors attempt to warn the rescuers, the shark attacks one of the divers, dragging him away. The second diver goes missing as fear and chaos escalate among the remaining survivors trapped in the plane.

In a horrific turn of events, the shark bites off Jed's leg below the knee, and he quickly goes into shock. His injury serves as a stark reminder of the ever-present danger surrounding the survivors as they try to escape.

Ava retrieves scuba gear from a hidden area of the plane, fueling the group's courage to attempt their escape. Despite Kyle's initial fear of swimming to the surface, they rally together, emphasizing the need to escape the sinking wreckage.

As the survivors swim through the submerged fuselage towards an exit, they face the shark once more. Ava cleverly uses bubbles from her life vest to deter the shark, allowing the rest of the group to get a moment of reprieve.

Just as they are about to fully exit the plane, Kyle is attacked by the shark. He takes a last breath before being violently dragged back into the depths, adding to the dire toll of their journey and deepening the emotional weight on the survivors.

Ava tries to swim to the surface amid the chaos, but exhaustion and lack of oxygen threaten her survival. Miraculously, she surfaces, buoyed by her inflated life vest, only to find herself alone in the vast ocean.

A rescue helicopter finally arrives and rescues Ava, who finds Danilo and Rosa aboard. With emotions running high and the weight of their lost loved ones looming, they share an emotional farewell to those who didn't make it.
