Sudhi and Anu, two siblings studying at a boarding school in Ooty, live with the ache of separated parents and a mother they have never laid eyes on. They yearn to meet her and reclaim the family they feel was torn apart, so during a vacation at Vijayabhaskar’s home, they hatch a bold plan: they begin an indefinite fast to draw their mother back into their lives. Though the fast ends up not producing the result they hope for, their father is forced to give a brief description of what their mother might look like, and the kids learn that she is said to live somewhere in Bangalore.

The next day brings news of a business trip to Bangalore, and the curious duo insist on accompanying him. While Vijayabhaskar navigates the responsibilities of the trip, the children manage to slip away from the caretakers and embark on a search for their mother. Their father discovers they are missing only to receive a call from the kids saying they have found their mother at a house in Bangalore—House No. 1, Love Shore, Bangalore North—thereby setting the stage for the unfolding drama. At this point they encounter a rich and kind woman named Hema, who bears a striking resemblance to the described mother and is mistaken by the children as the real thing. Hema quickly develops a soft spot for the children and decides to play along with the ruse to help them but also to see if she can bring them closer to their real mother.

Initially, Vijay is torn—furious about the deception yet compassionate toward the children—and he chooses to continue the drama through the vacation. Hema, feeling the weight of her deception and the bond she has formed with the kids, agrees to keep quiet about her true status if Vijay helps her manage the situation and, in turn, ensures the children get the mother they long for. She asks him to respect her boundary and not press for details about her life, and he agrees, recognizing the fragile balance they are maintaining.

As the journey back to school looms, a new wrench is added when the vacation is unexpectedly extended by a week due to severe weather in Ooty. Hema, reluctant to be part of a growing lie, pulls away from the act, and the children fear that their parents might be fighting again. They plead with her to stay, and her resolve softens as she witnesses the genuine care she has for them. Yet the situation remains complicated, and the drama continues to evolve with genuine emotions beginning to surface.

The tension sharpens when Anu falls ill on a quiet night, and Vijay watches how deeply Hema cares for the children. This moment leads him to propose marriage, hoping to secure a stable family for the kids. Hema, feeling that her involvement might have driven a wedge between the children and their true mother, initially resists the proposal. The conversation evolves into a confession: Vijay reveals the truth of his past—he is not the father of the children, and both their parents have died. The children belong to his late sister Sindhu, who died in a road accident, and to shield them from that painful truth, he had created the story of a separated mother. Hema listens, stunned, as she also shares her own life story: she comes from a poor family, with a mother, an elder sister, and a brother all facing serious illnesses, and she has sacrificed her happiness to care for them.

Despite the heavy revelations, a slow and mutual understanding grows. Hema’s feelings begin to soften, and she contemplates the possibility of a life with Vijay. She ultimately decides to accept the proposal, with the intent of building a family that can shelter the children. She leaves to seek permission to marry, and when she returns, she discovers that Vijay has already told the children the truth. To everyone’s surprise, the children are unfazed by the confession; they still see Vijay as their father. The family unit finally feels complete, but the emotional storm leaves Hema with a bittersweet ache.

In the end, the trio—Vijay, the children, and Hema—move forward together. The kids openly welcome Hema as their mother and Vijay’s wife, and they all ride off together toward the school, united in a blended family formed through truth, resilience, and a shared commitment to care for each other.
