Aby Kunchacko Boban and Sona Shalini are more than just neighbors—they’re family friends who have grown up side by side, born the same day and tangled in a life of lighthearted pranks and shared mischief. Their bond is so close that friends affectionately nickname them the Siamese twins, never quite apart in spirit even when life drags them in different directions. Their easygoing, fun-loving dynamic forms the warm center of their world, where romance isn’t something they actively seek, but something that quietly lingers just beyond the surface of their playful friendship.
When Sona travels to Bangalore to participate in a youth festival, Aby feels a sharpened ache in her absence. He realizes that what he feels for her runs deeper than friendship, and he contemplates confessing his love. Yet he hesitates, worried about how she might feel and mindful of not taking undue advantage of the freedoms their families have granted them. Sona’s return brings a sudden shift: she reveals that Prakash Mathew Boban Alummoodan had proposed to her while she was away, throwing her own feelings into question. This news nudges Sona toward considering Prakash, and Aby openly encourages her to share her heart with him. The result is that Sona and Prakash begin a relationship, a development that unexpectedly strains Aby’s and Sona’s long-standing friendship.
Prakash’s responses to Aby’s closeness to Sona intensify the tension, revealing that the future of their trio may be more fragile than it seems. Aby, sensing Sona’s hurt in the wake of Prakash’s reactions, redirects his attention toward Varsha [Jomol], a woman who has long harbored feelings for him. This shift blindsides Sona and fuels her growing frustration. Amid the shifting loyalties, Prakash and Sona’s marriage is arranged, setting the stage for a test of everyone’s loyalties and affections.
Varsha pushes Aby to meet her father, but he makes excuses and does not show up. In a poignant moment, Varsha confesses that she understands Aby’s true feelings for Sona and that as long as his heart remains with her, he cannot reciprocate Varsha’s love. She urges him to tell Sona the truth. The impending marriage arrangements push forward as dinner conversations with the families reveal the weight of impending changes. Sona learns she is set to move to the United States, far from her parents and Aby, and the moment becomes intensely emotional. She questions why Aby never loved her in the way she hoped, and he responds with a heartfelt, overwhelming hug that leaves her torn and confused.
Later, Sona discovers a card tucked away near her name bearing the letters SUK-RI-YA, a cue that carries the meaning “I love you.” > I love you. The revelation shocks Sona and intensifies her hurt, and she confronts Aby about all that he has kept hidden from her. Yet there is a glimmer of hope in Aby’s attempt to soothe the hurt: he argues that it would be imprudent to tell their families in the current moment. The emotional crossroads deepen when Sona admits that she loves him too, but the timing, the responsibilities, and the fear of breaking their families’ peace complicate their resolve.
As the wedding bells begin to chime for Sona and Prakash, Aby makes a decisive choice to leave before the ceremony. Their parents struggle to understand his sudden withdrawal, but as they search for the couple, they find Aby and Sona together on the steps of the railway station. Rather than parting ways, their families step in with a shared wish: let the two of them be together. The story closes on a note of cautious optimism, with the families approving the union and inviting the couple to embark on a future where love, honesty, and a deep bond can endure beyond the expectations of others.
