Night Train to Lisbon

In Bern, Switzerland, Raimund Gregorius spots a young woman in a red coat about to jump from a bridge. Without hesitation, he abandons his briefcase and rushes to rescue her, successfully pulling her back to safety.

After saving her, the young woman helps Raimund retrieve his scattered papers. Despite their brief connection, she leaves mysteriously during his university lecture, leaving her red coat behind.

Raimund, perplexed by the woman's sudden disappearance, takes her coat and finds a small memoir by Amadeu do Prado. The coat also has an address stamped from a bookstore, prompting him to seek answers.

At the bookstore, the seller recalls the young woman purchasing the memoir. As Raimund reads through the book, a hidden train ticket to Lisbon falls out, leading him to make a spontaneous decision to travel.
