The goddess within the nearby temple reportedly intervenes, killing the soldiers in a fit of rage. A devoted keeper records the tale and the knowledge in a book, preserving it for future generations.

As a girl, Sitara grows tired of ordinary study and becomes captivated by dance. In a dance school she learns of Kadhambari from a guru who found the story in a diary hidden in Francis's antique car. The legend spurs her to pursue dance and join the guru's school.

Shortly after Sitara's entry into the world of dance, the guru's wife dies, and whispers spread that the Kadhambari story is cursed. The house of the guru becomes a focal point for fear and superstition. The rumor foreshadows the darker motive behind suppressing the tale.

Two decades pass and Sitara has risen as a celebrated dancer in her village. Rohit, from Hyderabad, arrives seeking a new idea for a dance team to enter a competition in America. He spots Sitara dancing in the temple and becomes instantly intrigued.
