Nadja

Dracula is killed by a stake through the heart. Nadja arrives to claim the body and has it cremated. She prepares to take the ashes to Brooklyn to visit her twin brother Edgar.

Before leaving with the ashes, Nadja stops for a drink and meets Lucy, a similarly disillusioned young woman. The two strike a wary bond and leave the bar together. They end up sharing a sexual encounter.

Van Helsing has been jailed, and his nephew Jim, Lucy's husband, bails him out. With his freedom regained, Van Helsing resolves to stop Dracula from returning.

Van Helsing learns that Dracula's body has been removed from the morgue. He enlists Jim's help to destroy it properly so Dracula can never rise again. They vow to track the body and end the threat.

Nadja visits Edgar and meets Cassandra, his nurse and live-in lover. She persuades Cassandra to move Edgar to her apartment and reveals a plan to heal him with plasma from shark embryos. Edgar revives enough to drink some of Nadja's blood.

Lucy, under Nadja's trance, leads Jim and Van Helsing to Edgar's house where Nadja is staying with Renfield. The hunt tightens as they converge on the residence.

Edgar awakens and warns Cassandra that she is in danger from Nadja and her pursuit. The warning sets the stage for a dangerous confrontation to come.

Cassandra is revealed to be Van Helsing's daughter, complicating loyalties. Nadja tries to escape with Cassandra as Lucy, Nadja, and Jim each pursue their targets across town.

Cassandra runs into a gas station; Nadja mesmerizes the two mechanics and one is killed. A policeman arrives and shoots Nadja in the abdomen, knocking her down.

Edgar, now recovering, joins Van Helsing in the pursuit. Nadja sends a psychic fax saying she is injured and must return to Transylvania with Cassandra, forcing the group to press on toward the castle.

As they near the castle, Nadja begins a transfusion of Cassandra's blood while Cassandra sleeps, attempting to restore her own strength. Edgar and Helsing close in on the castle to end the threat for good.

Edgar and Helsing drive a stake through Nadja's heart, destroying her. Lucy is released from the trance, and Cassandra awakens to face the aftermath of the night's events.

In the epilogue, Nadja reveals that she has survived by inhabiting Cassandra's body, and that Edgar and Nadja marry at City Hall. The ending hints at a new, unsettling life together rather than a true end.

The final narration confirms Nadja's continued life inside Cassandra's body, with the implication that she is still a threat and has found a way to stay connected to Edgar in a form of shared life.
