Vikram, a renowned photographer known for his sharp eye in both fashion shoots and wildlife, is gut-punched when he watches a video in which his girlfriend, Roshni, declares that she’s leaving him. The moment fractures his sense of reality, sending him into a tailspin of doubt and suspicion as he tries to move on. In a dimly lit bar, fate nudges him toward an unexpected connection with Nisha Sengupta, and what starts as a chance encounter soon blossoms into a new romance. Nisha moves into the flat Vikram shares with Roshni, and the pair begin to build something hopeful amid the tension of the past.

Yet the shadow of Roshni’s disappearance lingers. Vikram becomes a person of interest in the investigation surrounding her vanishing, though the authorities are careful to show that there is no concrete evidence tying him to her fate. The house they inhabit holds a deeper mystery: it is owned by a British woman who built a hidden, self-contained room to shelter her husband, a man who had gone missing during 1947, and the room is equipped with one-way mirrors that let observers watch without being seen. In a flashback, the film explains Roshni’s jealousy of Vikram’s closeness with a colleague. She hatches a plan to pretend she is leaving him for good. She records a video that appears to show her departure, all while she hides inside the secret room, watching Vikram’s reactions through the mirrors. The crafty plan backfires when she realizes she has lost the key and discovers she is trapped inside, with no straightforward way to contact the outside world. The room’s eerie stillness becomes a prison, even as the rest of the house hums with ordinary life.

Nisha, curious and resourceful, eventually discovers the key to the hidden room, though she does not immediately understand its purpose. As she pieces things together, she realizes that Roshni’s fate is entangled with the room: Roshni is indeed trapped, but she can communicate by tapping on the pipes that connect to the hidden space. The discovery deepens the stakes and adds a moral complexity to the narrative: should Nisha intervene, risking her own future with Vikram, or walk away?

The tension tightens when investigators deliver a package containing photographs that complicate the picture further. Spurred by these images, Nisha contemplates whether to rescue Roshni or walk away from a situation that could derail her relationship with Vikram. She decides to intervene, but the rescue does not go as planned: when she approaches the door to check on Roshni, the former occupant of the secret room surprises her—Roshni knocks Nisha out with a glass bottle and seals her inside. The hidden room becomes the stage for a dramatic reversal, and Roshni steps out into the house again, shaken but determined to reclaim her independence.

Once outside, Roshni confronts the photographs and the package that revealed Vikram and his colleague in compromising moments. The evidence shatters her trust and crystallizes her resolve to leave the nightmare behind. She places Vikram’s photo on the mirror, tucks a necklace into place to signal she is out, and then sends the keys to the investigator who has genuine feelings for Nisha. In the final scene, Roshni tears apart the shared photograph of her and Vikram and drives away along a highway, free and content to sever the ties that left her heart broken.
