Muqaddar Ka Sikandar

A nameless young orphan is hired to work in Ramnath's household. Ramnath harbors a strong dislike for the boy after a tragedy involving a different orphan who killed his wife, and the boy's presence adds tension to the house. Kaamna, Ramnath's daughter, quietly befriends him, offering a glimmer of compassion in a harsh environment.

Fatima, a Muslim woman who works for Ramnath, takes in the boy and raises him as her own son. She renames him Sikandar, symbolizing a conqueror, and commits to guiding him through hardship. The boy begins to see a future beyond his earlier anonymity.

Sikandar is accused of attempting to rob Ramnath's house while delivering a birthday gift to Kaamna. Ramnath banishes him and Fatima from the household, severing the boy's ties to his adoptive family. The stigma hardens Sikandar's resolve and strains his budding bond with Kaamna.

Fatima dies, leaving young Sikandar to shoulder the burden of caring for her daughter Mehroo. He confronts grief and responsibility, continuing to navigate life without his adoptive mother. This loss becomes a turning point that pushes him toward a larger fate.

In his despair, Sikandar seeks counsel from the fakir Darvesh Baba. The wise man advises him to find happiness in sadness and to conquer fate by embracing life’s challenges. This encounter plants the seed for Sikandar’s later philosophy and ambitions.

The film jumps to a grown-up Sikandar who earns fortunes by turning smugglers and thieves over to the police, collecting reward payouts. He builds an impressive house for himself and Mehroo and expands his business. Yet he remains haunted by memories of Kaamna, the girl who once refused him.

Kaamna and her father struggle financially, and she resists Sikandar’s attempts to reconnect. Despite the distance, Sikandar’s longing persists as he tries to help from afar. Kaamna’s steadfast pride keeps them apart while the past lingers between them.

Sikandar immerses himself in his hedonistic routine, visiting Zohra Begum’s brothel. Zohra, who runs the place, falls deeply in love with him and keeps returning despite other clients. The affair complicates Sikandar’s relationships and drives conflicts with those close to him.

In a bar, Sikandar befriends Vishal Anand, a down-on-his-luck lawyer. Vishal risks his own life to save Sikandar from a bomb blast, earning his trust. Soon after, Vishal and his mother move into Sikandar’s house, becoming part of his circle.

Dilawar, a criminal in love with Zohra, confronts Sikandar and is beaten in a struggle, swearing to take his life. The feud between Sikandar and Dilawar grows, intertwining with Sikandar’s complicated love life. The threat casts a shadow over Sikandar’s fragile happiness.

Ramnath and Kaamna discover that Sikandar has been quietly paying their bills, which softens old resentments. The two households begin to reconnect, and Vishal starts working with Ramnath on shared ventures. Sikandar’s generosity reshapes the dynamics of their relationships.

Sikandar asks Vishal to help confess his love to Kaamna through a written letter. Kaamna mistakes the letter for being from Vishal, and the two begin dating, unaware of Sikandar’s true feelings. To protect his friendship with Vishal, Sikandar sacrifices his own happiness and stays silent about his love.

Mehroo’s engagement seems imperiled as Sikandar’s frequent visits to Zohra create concerns for her fiancé’s family. Vishal tries to broker peace by offering money to Zohra, but she refuses. When Sikandar visits, Zohra dies by poison hidden in a ring, dying in Sikandar’s arms and leaving him overwhelmed with guilt.

Dilawar teams up with J. D. to destroy Sikandar, kidnapping Mehroo and threatening Kaamna. Vishal rescues Mehroo and Sikandar saves Kaamna in the ensuing fight. In the climactic battle, both Sikandar and Dilawar are mortally wounded; as Kaamna’s wedding to Vishal unfolds, Sikandar dies in Vishal’s arms, and the wedding becomes a funeral.
