Morbus

A team of scientists led by Dr. Michael Morbius arrives at a cave in Costa Rica. Morbius performs a blood ritual by cutting his hand, attracting a swarm of bats that fly out, indicating the start of his experimental journey. The rest of the team retreats to their chopper as Morbius stays at the cave's entrance.

Twenty-five years earlier, a young Michael Morbius lives in Greece with Dr. Emil Nicholas, suffering from a blood disease. Michael repairs a machine to revive his friend Milo, demonstrating his resourcefulness despite his condition. Milo is later harassed by other children for his illness, highlighting his struggles.

Morbius is nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in Sweden but declines the award, choosing to focus on his medical work instead. He is treating a young girl, Anna, who shares his blood disease, and works with his girlfriend, Dr. Martine Bancroft, who is concerned about his obsession.

Morbius secretly collects bats and develops a serum by combining bat DNA with human blood, believing it will cure his disease. He tests the serum on a lab rat, initially with negative results, but the rat later shows signs of revival, indicating potential success. Anna suffers a seizure but is stabilized after Morbius's treatment.

Morbius travels with Milo, Nicholas, and his team on a ship to conduct further experiments on the serum. Morbius emphasizes the urgency of his work to Milo. During this stage, Morbius undergoes a transformation, breaking free from restraints and attacking mercenaries as he turns into a vampiric creature.

Morbius reverts to his vampiric form, attacking and draining the blood of security personnel. Martine is knocked unconscious during the chaos. Morbius then observes his own actions through security footage, realizing his transformation is complete, and begins to isolate himself to control his bloodlust.

FBI agents Simon Stroud and Al Rodriguez investigate the security breach. Morbius isolates himself in his lab, feeding on blood samples and honing his bat-like powers, such as flying and super strength. Milo visits him, and Morbius learns Milo has taken the serum for himself, revealing Milo's own vampiric turn.

Morbius visits Martine in the hospital, where he learns about Milo’s vampiric murders and his own growing hunger. Milo becomes a vampire and starts killing others, leading to a chase through the subway tunnels where Milo slaughters police officers. Morbius attempts to stop him but escapes.

After Nicholas’s death, Morbius confronts Milo, who has kidnapped Martine. Morbius fights Milo, injecting him with a cure that leads to his death. Morbius stays with his dying brother, and Martine reawakens as a vampire, hinting at her own transformation.

Morbius flies into the night, reflecting on his loss and ongoing condition. During the credits, a multiversal rift opens, bringing Adrian Toomes from another universe, who seeks Morbius’s help and mentions Spider-Man, hinting at future conflicts.
