Morbius

At a hospital in Greece, 10-year-old Michael Morbius meets his surrogate brother Lucien, whom he renames Milo. They quickly bond over their shared struggle with a severe blood disease, relying heavily on crutches for mobility as they endure their daily challenges.

Dr. Emil Nicholas, a kind mentor, oversees the care of Michael and Milo. He arranges for Michael to attend a prestigious medical school in New York, hoping to help them pursue their dreams while ensuring Milo continues to receive support.

Both brothers endure a rigorous routine, undergoing blood transfusions three times a day. Michael vows to discover a cure for their affliction, promising Milo a future free of their debilitating ailment.

Fast forward 25 years, Michael Morbius declines a Nobel Prize for his artificial blood that has saved countless lives. He believes his invention derives from a flawed experiment and feels unworthy of such recognition.

Morbius secretly captures vampire bats from Costa Rica, intending to splice their genes with his own to find a cure. His colleague Martine Bancroft discovers his plan and learns of the bats' unique anti-coagulants that could aid his research.

After initial trials on mice show promise, Morbius informs Milo of his secret experiment. With Milo's financial backing, they arrange to conduct the experiments on a private vessel in international waters.

As the experimentation intensifies, Morbius undergoes a horrifying transformation into a vampire, succumbing to bloodlust and killing the crew in self-defense. The chaos momentarily subsides with Martine's presence, though she soon becomes unconscious.

After fleeing the scene of chaos, Morbius returns to New York with newfound superhuman abilities including extraordinary strength and echolocation. He struggles to control his bloodlust while relying on artificial blood that soon starts to lose its effectiveness.

FBI agents Simon Stroud and Al Rodriguez investigate a series of murders connected to Morbius. They note his sudden vitality and become increasingly suspicious of his research and activities.

Milo, frustrated that Morbius found a cure but won't share it, seeks his brother’s blood to alleviate his condition. He becomes increasingly desperate and embarks on a dark journey of his own.

While visiting a recovering Martine, Morbius discovers a nurse dead with all her blood drained. Fearing he is responsible, he tries to escape but is captured by the FBI.

During Morbius's imprisonment, Milo visits him and offers to use his wealth to secure his brother's release. However, Morbius learns the horrifying truth; Milo has taken the cure for himself and killed the nurse in a blood frenzy.

Morbius escapes to confront Milo, who has fully embraced his monstrous identity. Their battle escalates as Morbius discovers his ability to fly, setting the stage for a fierce showdown between the two brothers.

In a heartbreaking climax, Milo fatally injures Dr. Nicholas, and Morbius arrives too late to save him. Tragically, he also loses Martine, who dies in his arms after a final kiss, deepening his grief and commitment to his vampire identity.

After confronting Milo, who dies peacefully, Morbius takes to the skies as a fugitive. Unbeknownst to him, Martine awakens with glowing red eyes, hinting at her transformation into a vampire.
