Magalir Mattum

Janaki and Pappamma work at a fashion export company where the manager, G. K. Pandian, regularly harasses female employees. The women tolerate this because of their family responsibilities and economic needs. The atmosphere foreshadows the power imbalance they must navigate.

Sathya, a computer graduate, joins the company as a designer. Pandian tries to get closer to her, and his overtures are initially mistaken as platonic by the other employees. Sathya's arrival stirs suspicion and leads some colleagues to shun her until she asserts herself.

Sathya understands Pandian's true intentions when he presents her with a silk sari, and she rebukes him. Her stand earns her the respect and friendship of Janaki and Pappamma. The trio's bond strengthens as they recognize the manager's harassment and plan to support each other.

As Sathya's stance grows firmer, Janaki becomes increasingly courageous and begins speaking up against unfair treatment. Madhavi, Pandian's sidekick, observes the shift with a sour undertone, signaling the start of a power struggle. The women's solidarity begins to topple Pandian's influence.

Pandian asks Janaki to work late and prepare his coffee. She unknowingly uses rat poison instead of sugar, causing him to collapse. Sathya finds him unconscious and he's rushed to a hospital, while the others react with shock and confusion.

They overhear that a terrorist patient has died from poisoning, and in a panic they steal the covered corpse, assuming it is Pandian. They carry it toward Sathya's room, only to discover they have the terrorist's body. Realizing the grave error, they decide to return the corpse to the hospital.

After several mishaps, the police take away the corpse and reveal the mistake. The incident escalates the stakes for the trio and highlights the consequences of their impulsive actions. They begin to realize the danger of unchecked desperation.

Pandian returns to work and, after learning what happened, blackmails the trio into spending three nights with him in his office guesthouse. He warns that refusing will mean arrest. The women reluctantly agree at first, then plot to liberate themselves from his coercive hold.

The trio overpowers Pandian, ties him up, and imprisons him in a room while Sathya takes charge as acting manager. Janaki, Pappamma, and the other employees back the changes they implement in the office. This marks a turning point as the women assume control.

Sathya receives word from the head office about the boss's visit, and the trio decide to come clean. They rush to the airport to meet the boss they have never seen, hoping to present their reforms. Madhavi overhears the plan and rescues Pandian, altering the course of events.

They reach the airport too late; the boss leaves with Pandian. They hurry back to the office to face the consequences of the ordeal and to continue managing the company.

On returning, the boss is impressed by the radical changes in the office. He blames Pandian and praises the trio for their innovations, noting a spy in the office who had informed him of the abuse. He transfers Pandian and Madhavi to Andaman and offers jobs to Janaki's husband and Pappamma's husband.

Sathya shows the boss a computer-drawn image of her dream husband, and it resembles him. The boss asks Sathya to marry him, and she accepts, marking a dramatic reversal of power and the start of a new chapter.
