A successful but emotionally guarded manager at an advertising agency, Abhiram carries a sharp disdain for women that he voices freely, a stance that clashes with the all-woman world he must navigate at work. The company’s chairman, Prasad, who is also Abhiram’s paternal uncle, decides to appoint Harika as the new assistant manager, a move that immediately rankles the already brittle dynamic between the two. Harika’s intelligence and drive threaten to upend Abhiram’s comfort zone, and he begins to bully her, even going so far as to bug her desk in an attempt to steal her lipstick ad concept and deride her work.
Harika, fed up with the abuse, considers resigning and approaches Prasad to submit her notice. Prasad, feeling sympathy for her, asks her to reconsider and then explains the root of Abhiram’s misanthropy toward women. He recounts Abhiram’s painful childhood: he lost his parents at the age of two and was raised by his grandfather, as the sole heir to the family business. The turning point in his heart comes from his past romance with Maheswari, the niece of the family’s accountant. Abhiram falls for her, but Maheswari’s uncle fears he isn’t serious about the relationship and arranges her engagement to someone else. In a moment of rebellion, Abhiram interrupts the engagement and declares his intention to marry Maheswari. During a fateful car ride with her, they are in an accident and Abhiram blacks out. When he regains consciousness, his grandfather reveals that Maheswari has already moved on and married another man, leaving Abhiram convinced that women are inherently superficial and untrustworthy.
With this confession, Harika decides to stay at the company and, in a surprising turn of events, Prasad promotes her to manager while demoting Abhiram to assistant manager. Although frustrated, Abhiram accepts the change and accompanies Harika on a business trip to Paris. There, the two spend time working side by side, and Harika helps him confront and overcome a deep-sea fear. As they collaborate, they grow closer, and Abhiram finds himself developing real feelings for Harika, even as she reveals she is engaged to be married.
Returning to India, Abhiram grows withdrawn and childish, unable to cope with the fact that his heart might be turning toward Harika while she is bound to another man. Harika, meanwhile, harbors reciprocal feelings but remains uncertain about marriage given his emotional fragility. The family later reveals that Maheswari died in the earlier accident and that the relatives concealed the truth to protect Abhiram from a heartbreak he was not ready to bear. The lingering guilt strengthens his resolve to deter him from trusting women, and he remains too shocked to confess his feelings to Harika.
On the morning of Harika’s wedding, she phones Abhiram to learn whether he truly loves her, hinting that the decision to marry her parents’ choice—not her own—might be altered if he speaks from the heart. Prasad nudges him to confess first, but Abhiram insists that Harika should speak first, wary of prior heartbreak when he had tried to take the lead. Harika finally confesses over the phone, but a network glitch prevents him from replying in time. Believing he has rejected her, she proceeds with the wedding.
In a bold and hopeful move, Abhiram races to the wedding venue, only to find Harika and her party already drifting away on a boat. Summoning courage, he dives into the river and swims toward the vessel. Harika, seeing him struggle, dives in after him, and the moment they meet, she breaks off her engagement and marries him, sealing their connection with a shared willingness to gamble on love.
In a mid-credits moment, their first night together hints at the spark that started it all: Harika recalls realizing their bond when Abhiram’s lipstick ad concept aligned with hers. Abhiram admits that he had planted a bug under her desk to steal her idea, a confession that they take with a playful punch and a forgiving laugh as they begin their life as a couple together.
