Lung Fung Restaurant

Max Mok Siu-Chung stars as Dragon Ching, a former triad member who is released from prison after a four-year stretch and now works as a waiter at Lung Fung Restaurant. He reunites with his triad brother-in-arms, Rubbish Pool, Stephen Chow, who believes Dragon is too good to be stuck working for someone else. When Pool’s girlfriend, Apple, Strawberry Yeung Yuk-Mui — a club hostess — is beaten by her colleagues, Gigi and June step in after Apple tries to set her up with a rich man, and Pool calls on Dragon to negotiate. Dragon accompanies Pool, and they release Gigi and June, sensing the tension but allowing both women to go free, while an undeniable attraction begins to flicker between Dragon and Gigi, though she’s slow to admit it.

The next day, Dragon crosses paths with Gigi again while visiting his triad boss, Kent, in the hospital, a tense moment that escalates into a wary courtship as Dragon tries to prove his loyalty. Kent is played by Richard Ng Man-Tat and is the blunt anchor of this dangerous world. Dragon even lends a hand to Gigi’s mother, Tam Sin-Hung, during her physical therapy, deepening the bond between him and the woman he’s secretly beginning to care for. Yet Gigi remains guarded, keeping her heart under wraps as pressure from the street intensifies.

Threats escalate when a night of danger unfolds: Brother Wai and a pack of triad thugs attempt to kidnap Gigi from the nightclub, only to be foiled by Dragon’s timely intervention. The incident cements the real danger he faces, and Gigi’s trust in him grows, culminating in a passionate kiss that marks the start of a relationship she’s reluctant to fully acknowledge. Still, the couple’s future is complicated by the violent politics of their world; a secret is brewing, one that will test every vow they’ve made.

A tense lunch with Gigi and June becomes a turning point when Bull, the rival triad leader, and his underlings insult them, prompting Pool to retaliate and Dragon to fight back in defense of Kent’s group. Dragon sees Gigi with a wealthy suitor and lashes out, beating the man when he realizes she’s rejecting him. Gigi’s heartbreak deepens when she leaves a note for Dragon, confessing the pain of loving him. After reading it, Dragon races to win her back, only to be restrained by Pool, who reveals a grim truth: a rival triad has ordered a hit on Kent. Dragon plunges back into the fray, joining Pool to protect Kent.

In a brutal triad clash at Lung Fung Restaurant, Kent and Pool are killed, and Dragon is arrested and imprisoned for six years. Upon his release, he re-enters life as a taxi driver, cruising the city with the memory of what happened weighing on him. One evening, Gigi boards his taxi, and after a quiet, revealing conversation, it becomes clear that Gigi is now a sales representative with a son, while Dragon has a new girlfriend. The story closes with a sense of complexity and consequence: love persists, loyalties are tested, and the past continues to shadow the choices of those who survived the streets they once called home.
