From his basement, Robert collaborates with Sinus-San, one of his internet friends. They develop a breakthrough: a specific frequency that could counteract his 'sound allergy' and bring him peace. He hides how far the breakthrough goes from his wife and the wider world.

Simon and Linn move next door, becoming the new audience for Robert's experiments. He invites them to his home and casually mentions that his family was killed in a car crash. This awkward exchange sets the stage for his manipulation.

Before leaving to fetch coffee, Robert hints at his past and then guests stay. He activates the hypnotic frequency and compels Simon to perform menial tasks and Linn to have sex with him. Clara resents the manipulation, labeling him pathetic, a point he defends as testing control.

It is revealed that Clara and Robert's son Sebastian died when Robert sabotaged the family car. Clara, who appears as a hallucination, urges him to take his antipsychotic medicine, but Robert refuses. Instead, he forces Simon and Linn to adopt his dead family roles.

Frustrated with the current state, Robert expands his experiment by trying to form a rock band with Simon and Linn, but abandons the idea when the music is amateurish. They discuss a utopian societal vision, challenging Robert's sense of control.

Simon and Linn describe their benevolent deity concept, and Robert hypnotizes himself to embody those qualities. He studies foreign languages and ascends in societal rank, with voice-overs noting his ascent.

Robert climbs to prestigious positions and becomes ruler of a unified Earth. He imposes sweeping changes, but his message grows darker and anti-human, culminating in ordering the entire human race to commit mass suicide.
