To search for a real bride, Seelawathie tasks two royal servants, Mahinda Pathirage and Mahendra Perera, to take the statue far away until they locate a suitable match. Their mission spans distant lands and perilous journeys, testing loyalty and wit. The quest marks the first leg of a long voyage.

Their journey brings them to Madura during the spring festival, a vibrant landscape of color and pageantry as they set the statue by the river. The festival atmosphere foreshadows the changes about to unfold. The search continues beyond borders.

The Madura royal nanny, Kudi, realizes the statue is Princess Pabawathie and confirms her resemblance to the sculpture. Her recognition confirms that a real match has been found and sets the wedding plan in motion. The princess’s identity becomes the key to the royal scheme.

Pabawathie is brought to Kusawathie, and a wedding is arranged at once, even though no groom is present. The ceremonial plans proceed as the court awaits the groom who will complete the match. The match appears arranged, but identity remains contested.

News of a supposed divorce spreads across kingdoms, prompting seven state kings to assemble for war against King Madu. The realm hovers on the brink of conflict as factions mobilize. The personal dispute threatens broader political stability.

Okkaka pleads for Pabawathie to return; she refuses, standing firm on her own will. In a drastic decree, the emperor orders that she be cut into seven pieces and distributed to the seven kings as punishment. The court teeters on the edge of a brutal punishment before intervention arrives.

At the last moment, Kusa returns, fights to protect his wife, and proclaims that she is his wife and should be spared. A rainstorm follows, washing away the ugliness that once defined his face and sealing their reunion. Love and mercy triumph in the storm.
