The Princess and the Dragon

Tiana turns into a frog because she kisses Naveen thinking he is a real prince who can break his own curse. However, Naveen was already a frog when she kissed him, and the magic transfers the curse to her as well. The spell requires a kiss from a true princess to break the frog curse, which is why Tiana's kiss doesn't work, she was only wearing a princess costume borrowed from Charlotte.

Earlier at the ball, Charlotte lends Tiana a princess costume, which leads to Naveen mistaking her for royalty.

Dr. Facilier plans to seize the La Bouff fortune by using a magical talisman containing Naveen's blood. He transforms Naveen into a frog and changes his assistant Lawrence into a double of Naveen. The scheme involves having the disguised Lawrence marry Charlotte La Bouff, which would give Facilier control over the family wealth through manipulation of the royal connection.

The voodoo doctor is introduced as a sinister figure who promises to help Naveen in exchange for something, hinting at his true motives.

Charlotte can only break the frog spell while she is a princess, which only lasts until midnight on Mardi Gras. Once the clock strikes midnight and Mardi Gras ends, she returns to being a regular person, losing the royal status needed to provide the kiss that would restore Naveen and Tiana to human form.

Ray mentions multiple times his desire to be a star, and earlier mentions his 'gal' Stella is a star, establishing his lifelong fascination.

Tiana becomes a princess when she and Naveen marry at the end of the film. Mama Odie performs the wedding ceremony, and because Tiana is now a true princess through marriage, her kiss on Naveen breaks the curse and restores both of them to human form. This transforms their frog bodies back and allows them to return to New Orleans as humans.
