During a fierce brawl against Cassios in an underground fighting ring, Seiya unwittingly unleashes a mysterious blue light. This powerful manifestation of Cosmo enables him to easily defeat Cassios, although he chooses to flee instead of finishing the fight.

Seiya meets Docrates and Kido, who warns him about his ex-wife Vander Guraad, revealing her dangerous intentions. Kido explains how Guraad runs the fighting ring to recruit powerful warriors for her private army, making Seiya a prime target.
