Kranthi, played by N.T. Rama Rao Jr., is a resilient young man whose life takes a complicated turn after he returns to his village with his wife and child. Their goal is to uplift the local community and bring positive change, but tragedy strikes when they are ambushed on their way home. During this attack, Pothuraju, also known as PR and portrayed as a ruthless and powerful figure, betrays them. PR is depicted as the head of a vast empire involved in illegal deals and nefarious connections, supported by his loyal accomplice Seshu. In a violent turn of events, PR kills Kranthi’s family and escapes with the money, leaving behind his own wife and young son, Chinna.
The story then follows the rise of Kantri, a character who joins PR’s gang with the initial motive of earning money for an orphanage where he was raised after being orphaned at a young age. Kantri, played by N.T. Rama Rao Jr., quickly gains prominence through his daring actions and strong sense of justice. He falls in love with Varalakshmi, who at first does not reciprocate his feelings but gradually falls for his genuine kindness and good heart. This love story adds a layer of emotional depth to the narrative.
As Kantri’s ambition grows, he travels to Hong Kong, where he encounters PR and actively participates in his illegal pursuits. However, tensions escalate, leading to a fallout between Kantri and PR’s gang. During this upheaval, Kantri is hired by Das to eliminate PR. Before executing this plan, he learns a shocking truth: PR is actually his biological father. This revelation transforms his hatred into conflicting feelings of attachment and disappointment. Meanwhile, Priya, the daughter of Seshu, develops feelings for Kantri but withdraws upon discovering his love for Varalakshmi, highlighting the complex web of relationships.
The plot thickens as frictions develop between PR and Seshu, leading to their enmity. Seshu eventually joins forces with Das, plotting to eliminate PR and Kantri to claim their wealth. A major twist in the climax reveals that Kantri is actually the son of Krishna, who was betrayed and murdered by PR in the past. It is also unveiled that Kantri’s grandfather narrowly escaped death during PR’s attack, leaving behind a key secret about Kantri’s origins.
Further revelations include the identity of Bhyraagi, played by Hansika Motwani, who is actually the son of PR’s murdered henchman Shiva and an old friend of Kantri. Bhyraagi joins Kantri in his quest for justice. It also emerges that Kantri manipulated PR’s separation from Seshu, orchestrating events to isolate PR and weaken his empire.
In the climax, PR’s revelation shocks everyone when he learns that Chinna, his biological son with his wife, was raised by Kantri’s grandfather after PR’s wife was killed. Kantri openly treats Chinna as his younger brother and cares for him deeply. PR, haunted by his past sins, attempts to attack Kantri but is ultimately confronted with the truth, leading Kantri to brutally attack and kill PR. The story ends with Kantri avenging his family’s destruction, leaving the scene with Chinna, symbolizing a cycle of redemption and justice for the wrongs of the past.
“Sometimes, the greatest fights are fought within ourselves, and the only victory is in the truth.”
This story weaves together themes of betrayal, revenge, familial ties, and justice, all set against a backdrop of crime and emotional turmoil, making Kranthi / Kantri a gripping tale of an orphan’s fight to uncover his true identity and seek justice for his family.
