Just My Luck

Ashley hosts the Braden & Co masquerade ball while Jake sneaks in hoping to meet Damon Phillips. A fortune teller prophesies that Ashley’s luck will change. On the dance floor, Jake and Ashley share a kiss, unknowingly exchanging their fortunes.

Shortly after the kiss, Jake pulls Phillips out of danger from an oncoming car. Phillips listens to McFly’s demo and agrees to work with the band. The swapped luck makes this breakthrough possible.

An invited guest turns out to be a prostitute, leading to Ashley and Peggy’s arrest. Ashley loses her PR job and her apartment is condemned by flooding and mold. She moves in with friends Maggie and Dana while things are in upheaval.

Ashley contacts the fortune teller, who explains someone else needed her luck. She realizes the masked stranger she kissed must hold her fortune. Ashley begins piecing together who has her luck while her life remains chaotic.

Ashley has a breakdown over her dwindling luck during a late meal at a diner. Jake, who still doesn’t recognize her, offers her a job at the bowling alley he just left. She accepts and begins rebuilding her life with a new routine.

Jake and Ashley grow closer as friends, and she introduces him to Maggie, a singer‑songwriter. He decides to use Maggie’s song in an upcoming McFly concert at the Hard Rock Cafe, tying his luck to the project.

Ashley overhears Jake saying his luck changed after the masquerade, and she realizes he was the masked dancer. She kisses him again and regains her own luck, restoring the balance between them.

Peggy offers to rehire Ashley if she helps with a client meeting. Ashley learns that Maggie’s song has been removed from the concert, and Jake and McFly begin experiencing bad luck again. The pattern intensifies the tension before the show.

Ashley skips the client meeting and goes straight to the concert venue. She kisses Jake again and returns the luck to him, allowing the show to go on and Maggie’s song to be performed with great energy.

With luck restored to Jake, McFly’s performance goes smoothly and Maggie’s song is finally performed. The concert marks a turning point in both Ashley and Jake’s fortunes.

The couple prepares to leave New York together. Jake finds Ashley at Grand Central Terminal and admits he’d be willing to give up his luck to be with her. They kiss again, continuing the fluctuating exchange of luck.

Their friend Katy arrives, and Ashley and Jake kiss her on the cheeks, transferring their luck to her. Katy immediately wins a $25 lottery ticket, a small but symbolic payoff of the exchange.

As Jake and Ashley walk outside, a burst water pipe sprays them, adding a last comic note to the luck-swapping saga. The couple’s romance remains central as they face an uncertain future together.
