Julie

An enraged Lyle forces Julie to drive as the accelerator is pressed to the floor, threatening to kill her if she leaves. A tense struggle ends with Cliff leaping from the car while Lyle shoots him and rifles his pockets for Julie's address.

Amalgamated orders Julie to change plans and head for the airport as a fill-in flight to New York. A gravely wounded Cliff manages to tell the police that Lyle knows Julie's whereabouts, but he collapses before revealing the exact location. The authorities piece clues together to track the right apartment.

Despite a frantic manhunt, the police arrive too late to stop Lyle, who learns of Julie's flight and rushes to the airport. The city braces as the danger closes in on Julie's airborne escape. The suspense mounts as Julie prepares for takeoff.

Onboard the plane, Lyle follows Julie into the cockpit, shoots the pilot, and seriously wounds the co-pilot. A doctor aboard helps Julie stay conscious while the crew uses radio guidance to bring the plane down safely. With the co-pilot coaching her through blackouts, Julie ultimately lands the jet and saves 60 passengers.

Lyle is dead in the aftermath of the attack, while Cliff survives but remains outside Julie's life. Julie breaks down, overwhelmed by the chain of terror and the looming task of rebuilding her life. The escape ends with a sense of fragile relief and a long road ahead.
