Iron Monkey

By day, Yang Tianchun runs a clinic and treats the poor for free. By night, he dons the Iron Monkey mantle to rob the rich and fund his charitable work. He even breaks into the governor's residence and steals a hoard of gold.

The governor, aware of Iron Monkey's daring deeds, orders chief constable Fox to track him down and arrest anyone connected to him. Fox accepts the assignment and begins tracking leads across the town.

Wong Kei-ying arrives in town with his son Wong Fei-hung and confronts street thugs. Soldiers arrest them on suspicion of being Iron Monkey, setting the stage for a courtroom clash. Their arrival stirs tension as they seek to prove their innocence.

During the trial, Iron Monkey interrupts to demonstrate Wong's innocence. The governor uses the situation to force Wong to help capture Iron Monkey within seven days, leveraging Fei-hung as a hostage to ensure cooperation.

Locals resent Wong's cooperation with the governor and refuse him food and shelter. He seeks refuge at Yang's clinic, where Yang and Miss Orchid shelter him and his family.

With Fox's help, Fei-hung is brought out of prison and kept at the clinic. There, he begins learning martial arts from Yang and Miss Orchid, expanding his skills under their guidance.

Hin-hung, a Shaolin traitor who has become an imperial official, arrives with followers and takes over the town. Iron Monkey and Wong Kei-ying cross paths with him and are seriously wounded, retreating to the clinic.

In the clinic, Wong learns that Yang is Iron Monkey, and the two form an alliance against Hin-hung. Fox provides covert assistance to strengthen their plan.

Hin-hung's monks locate the clinic and confront Miss Orchid. They drug her and attempt to rape her, but Wong Fei-hung arrives and drives them back using the staff moves he learned from Yang and Orchid.

Wong Fei-hung defeats some monks but is eventually captured and tortured by Hin-hung's forces. Orchid escapes to warn Wong Kei-ying and Iron Monkey about the danger.

Iron Monkey and Wong Kei-ying break into the governor's residence to rescue Fei-hung, fighting Hin-hung's guards and monks along the way. They push through the resistance to reach the hostage and turn the tide.

The heroes confront Hin-hung on burning wooden poles and defeat him in a fierce duel. Hin-hung falls into the inferno below as a new governor takes office and order returns to the town.

With the danger past, the Wongs prepare to leave town for Foshan while Yang and Orchid see them off. Fox jokes that he would like to visit, but is too busy chasing Iron Monkey.

Screen captions reveal that Yang and Orchid marry, sealing their partnership. Wong Fei-hung grows up inspired by his father and Iron Monkey to become a hero who helps restore Shaolin Monastery's honor.
