Irish Wish

Maddie Kelly has been secretly in love with Paul Kennedy, a successful author she has edited for the past year. Despite his charm and celebrity status, she keeps her feelings to herself, even from her mother, Rosemary, indicating her internal struggle.

At Paul's book launch event, Maddie sees an opportunity to confess her feelings. However, before she can approach him, Paul asks for her help in writing his next novel, leaving her feeling disappointed and frustrated.

Maddie's hopes are further dashed when Paul bonds with her best friend Emma, who flirts with him. Emma's admiration for Paul complicates Maddie's emotions, as she feels increasingly sidelined amid her own romantic turmoil.

Three months later, Maddie and her friends fly to Ireland for Paul and Emma's wedding. She reluctantly accepts her role as a bridesmaid, pushing her feelings aside and trying to focus on the preparations ahead.

Upon arriving in Ireland, Maddie gets into an argument over a suitcase mix-up at the luggage office. She later learns she has no way to reach the Kennedy estate and decides to take a bus, only to encounter the same man again, who is revealed to be James Thomas, a photographer.

At the Kennedy estate, Maddie begins to feel like an outsider amidst the affluent family and their lavish lifestyle. While Paul and a friend enjoy rowboats at the lake, Maddie's insecurities deepen, and she stumbles upon a wishing bench.

After whimsically wishing Paul were marrying her, Maddie wakes up in a bizarre scenario with her suitcase somehow containing a wedding dress. This odd occurrence makes her question reality as she finds Paul unexpectedly in her shower.

Maddie is proposed to by someone she believes to be her fiancé, but the situation becomes muddled when she is told to wear an heirloom wedding dress. The mysterious fairy, Saint Brigid, complicates matters and clouds Maddie's judgment further.

During her adventures, Maddie collides with James in a convertible, igniting a spark between them. Despite his lack of memory from their prior encounters, they begin to form a connection that challenges her feelings for Paul.

Maddie shares a restless night with Paul, leading to an uncomfortable confrontation the next day. As they seek picturesque wedding photo locations, James encourages Maddie to pursue her own dreams rather than solely focus on Paul's career.

After a storm, Maddie finds refuge with James in a pub where they share an evening of darts and dancing. This quality time deepens their bond, providing Maddie with comfort and companionship despite the upcoming wedding.

As the wedding approaches, Maddie begins to realize her true feelings are for James, not Paul. She confronts the reality that she doesn’t know Paul well enough to commit to him, prompting significant inner turmoil.

On the wedding day, Maddie expresses her concerns to the priest about love being absent in the situation. Shortly before the ceremony begins, she reassures Emma about her intent to mend things, showcasing her loyalty to her friend's happiness.

As she walks down the aisle dressed casually, Maddie boldly declares that the wedding should not proceed, as there is no real love. This shocking announcement leads to chaos, resulting in a confrontation between Paul and James.

After a heartfelt kiss with James before he leaves, Maddie makes a wish to reverse her earlier wish. With time rewinding and events untangling, they finally cross paths again, this time with James remembering Maddie, opening the door for a new relationship.
