Inuyasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass

Naraku's immediate threat is defeated, and Miroku’s Wind Tunnel vanishes while Kohaku is freed from Naraku’s control. In the wake of the battle, Inuyasha, Kagome, and Shippo commit to continuing their quest for Shikon Jewel shards. Miroku returns to his master Mushin, and Sango heads back to her village.

Mushin tasks Miroku with passing down the clan duty to destroy a yōkai who threatens eternal night. He acknowledges the weight of the mission and the need to prepare an heir. The responsibility marks a new chapter for Miroku's caste and his family’s legacy.

Kagura and Kanna discover a mirror in a hidden shrine and awaken Kaguya, Princess of the Heavens. In exchange for her freedom, Kaguya promises Kagura her true heart’s desire—freedom itself. Kagura and Kanna set out to recover five items that will free Kaguya from her mirror completely.

Inuyasha travels to the modern era in search of Kagome, accompanied by her brother Sota. In town, Kagome hides Inuyasha from the public in a photo booth while Sota cheekily snaps photos of the two as they argue. This era clash foreshadows the intertwining destinies to come.

Back in the Feudal era, Kagome extracts their faces from one of the photos and places them on a heart-shaped necklace locket she offers to Inuyasha, who initially seems to reject it. The gesture hints at a deeper bond growing between them. The moment lingers as a symbol of trust and connection.

Kagura and Kanna locate the remaining items; Kagura tears a sleeve from Inuyasha's Robe of the Fire-Rat. A sacred arrow forces Kagome to shield Inuyasha, and Kaguya captures Kagome, offering freedom to Kagome only if Inuyasha becomes her servant. The capture tightens Kaguya's grip on the protagonists.

Kaguya begins to freeze time into eternal night. Kagura suspects she is not who she claims to be and attempts to strike, but Kaguya teleports Kagura and Kanna away. The ruse deepens as the heroes plan their next move.

Inuyasha, Hojo, and Shippo join Miroku, Hachi, Sango, Kohaku, and Kirara to infiltrate Kaguya's mountain castle on Lake Motosu. They survive the time freeze by using Kagome's first-aid kit from the modern era, while Inuyasha remains unaffected by wearing Kagome's locket. The crew presses forward under constrained conditions.

They clash with Kaguya, who transforms Inuyasha into a full demon. Kagome is restrained, but Shippo frees her, and she shares a kiss with Inuyasha to revert him to his half-demon form. He vows to stay half-demon longer for her sake.

Kaguya reveals she is a demon who absorbed the real Kaguya, and Naraku reappears, having concealed himself in Kohaku’s back to wait for Kaguya to emerge and absorb her power to gain immortality. The villain's true plan comes into focus as the team braces for the final confrontation.

The heroes defeat Kaguya just in time; Naraku is defeated when Miroku’s Wind Tunnel is restored and used to end Kaguya’s threat. They flee the collapsing castle through Kanna’s mirror, and Naraku escapes with Kohaku. The danger begins to fade as order is restored.

Time resets to normal and the group returns to safety. Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kirara resume the quest for Shikon Jewel shards, while Hojo discards the celestial robe at Mount Fuji. The journey toward the remaining shards continues beyond the immediate threat.
