The film opens with a haunting prophecy that Naruto Uzumaki will die in battle against a monstrous threat. A funeral is held in his home village as friends and elders gather to bid him farewell, while Tsunade peers out the window, wondering if fate governs every outcome or if there is room for choice. The mood blends gravitas with a quiet sense of unfinished business between life and death.

A few days earlier, a shadowy figure named Yomi sets his sights on a shrine to reclaim Mōryō’s spirit. Because Mōryō lacks a body, Yomi offers his own as a temporary host until a true vessel can be found. The demon’s plan hinges on a fearless priestess named Shion, who can seal away spirits and foresees deaths with unsettling clarity. To aid the conquest, Yomi awakens a stone army and dispatches four subordinates to eliminate Shion. Each subordinate wields a chakra-infused creature to amplify their power, creating a fearsome threat that must be met head-on.

The Land of Fire responds with rapid-response teams to slow the advance and buy time. In the frontline, [Naruto Uzumaki], [Sakura Haruno], [Rock Lee], and [Neji Hyûga] are tasked with guarding [Shion] and escorting her toward the shrine where Mōryō’s body is kept. The group fights off Shion’s would-be killers, and a prophecy about Naruto’s demise hangs in the air, testing his resolve and his faith in his own luck. As the journey pressures them, Shion’s blunt acceptance of fate and her seemingly cold pragmatism clash with Naruto’s stubborn determination.

An ambush shatters the fragile progress, and the apparent death of Shion is revealed to be a ruse. Taruho, a cunning servant, hides behind a Shadow Mirror Body Transfer Jutsu, taking Shion’s place in a still-managing act of deception. After this shock, Neji urges Naruto to continue escorting Shion alone, and Shion confesses that her predictions thrive on the risk to others’ lives—that is how she protects herself and her cause. Naruto, fiercely protective, insists that he will survive and that Shion will be kept safe.

With renewed urgency, Sakura, Lee, and Neji push ahead, and the trio’s teamwork helps them fend off the recurring assassins. At last, the mountain temple where Mōryō’s body is kept comes into view, and Naruto places himself between the stone army and Shion’s sealing ritual. Shion begins the rite inside the protective barrier, but Yomi cunningly draws her deeper into danger by convincing her to start the technique with him inside the seal, paving the way for Mōryō’s spirit to reunite with his former host.

The tide shifts when Kakashi Hatake, along with Might Guy, Shikamaru Nara, and Temari, unleash a coordinated attack that shatters the stone army. The battlefield roars with the clash of strategy and willpower as Naruto rushes to rescue Shion. In a pivotal moment, Shion taps into the full scope of her powers, intending to sacrifice herself and Mōryō to save Naruto. She blurs the line between duty and love, and Naruto acts to stop her, even as her bell’s power tries to rewrite fate itself. In the end, Naruto merges Shion’s chakra with his own and conjures Rasengan, driving it into Mōryō and obliterating the demon for good.

In the wake of the battle, the question of what comes next lingers. Shion explains that Mōryō was a creature born from mankind’s darkest thoughts, and that the threat of such demons will rise again. She asks Naruto a double-edged question about whether he will stand with her to continue the lineage of priestesses who keep these evils at bay—and, perhaps, whether he will be the father of her child. Naruto, ever steadfast but a little naïve, agrees without realizing the deeper meaning of her plea, leaving the future uncertain and hopeful in equal measure.
