Disguised and coordinated, they abduct General Kreipe and smuggle him away in his own car, driving through multiple German checkpoints. The capture is conducted with careful timing to avoid triggering alarms and to preserve momentum. The group then begins the arduous trek across the island toward safety.

Travelling mainly by night, the party pushes through rugged mountain terrain under thick darkness. They rely on the help of resistance cells and local porters to navigate treacherous routes. The peril of pursuit remains constant as search parties sweep the countryside.

Townspeople and resistance fighters provide food, shelter, and crucial intelligence, helping the group stay ahead of German search parties. The network's support scenes operate in shadows, allowing the movement to stretch across Crete. Each safe stop reduces the risk of capture but increases the physical toll on the group.

Kreipe begins leaving personal tokens at several stops, creating a breadcrumb trail that could mislead pursuers or slow the group’s progress.
