House of Dracula

Count Dracula arrives at the castle home of Dr. Franz Edelmann and explains he has come to Visaria to find a cure for his vampirism. Edelmann agrees to help, proposing a series of blood transfusions using his own blood. Milizia, the doctor's assistant, stands by as the plan is set in motion.

Lawrence Talbot arrives at the castle demanding treatment for his lycanthropy. He is told to wait, and, aware that the full moon is rising, he has himself incarcerated by the local police to avoid harming others.

As the moon rises, Talbot undergoes a full transformation into the Wolf Man in the presence of Inspector Holtz and Dr. Edelmann. The terrifying change confirms the urgency of finding a cure.

The next morning, Talbot is transferred to the castle. Edelmann explains his theory that transformation is due to brain pressure, not moonlight, and vows to continue gathering plant spores that might help.

Despondent at the prospect of another Wolf Man episode, Talbot attempts suicide by jumping into the ocean. He survives and ends up in a cave beneath the castle, where he contemplates his fate.

Edelmann discovers Talbot in the cave, and they unexpectedly come across a catatonic Frankenstein's Monster clutching the skeleton of Dr. Niemann. The cave's humidity supports a rare fungus, and a natural tunnel connects to the castle basement.

Milizia wards Dracula off with a cross as he tries to seduce her. Nina shadows Milizia and discovers Dracula casts no reflection in a mirror, alerting Edelmann to vampire danger.

Edelmann detects unusual antibodies in Dracula's blood, indicating a second transfusion is needed. He prepares a transfusion strategy to destroy the vampire, with Nina and Milizia watching closely.

During the transfusion, Dracula uses hypnotic power to put Edelmann and Nina to sleep and reverses the flow, injecting his blood into Edelmann. When they awaken, Dracula has Milizia in his grasp.

Talbot is revived and, with a cross, they drive Dracula away. He returns to his coffin just as the sun rises, and Edelmann drags the open coffin into the sunlight, destroying the vampire.

After Dracula's death, Edelmann's body begins reacting to Dracula's blood; he no longer casts a reflection in a mirror and experiences visions of a monstrous version of himself performing unspeakable acts. He awakens changed and appears poised to transform again.

The townspeople accuse Edelmann and pursue him toward the castle as Holtz and Steinmuhl interrogate Talbot and Edelmann. Edelmann's transformation is witnessed as he revives Frankenstein's Monster; Nina's body is found in the cave. A violent confrontation erupts, Holtz is killed by an accidental electrocution, Talbot shoots Edelmann, and a fire traps the monster and collapses the burning castle roof.
