In 1999, humanity took a monumental step to combat the devastating effects of industrial pollution by constructing an electromagnetic shield. This shield was designed to protect the Earth from the harmful rays of the sun, reflecting a desperate attempt to ensure the survival of the human race.

News reports unveil the wicked activities of the SHIELD Corporation and its unscrupulous CEO, David Blake. Though Conner contemplates confronting Blake, he ultimately questions the efficacy of such actions, indicating a deeper existential crisis.

A group of masked rebels, under the leadership of Louise Marcus, attempts to infiltrate the SHIELD Corporation. The mission, though valiant, ends in violence as most rebels are eliminated; however, Louise manages to escape, keeping the fight alive.
