Haunting of Winchester House

A postal worker, Marlene, arrives at the Winchester Mystery House to deliver a package. She leaves the parcel with the current caretaker, Jessica, who ominously warns her to leave immediately, hinting that danger lurks inside.

Jessica performs a ritual within a magic circle inside the house. A ghostly wind seizes her and throws her out of a window into a tree, killing her instantly.

Susan, Drake, and Haley decide to take the caretaker job at the Winchester Mansion. On the way there, they nearly collide with an oncoming car, narrowly avoiding disaster.

When they reach the property, their keys won't work at the gate, so they must abandon the car and walk inside. The initial entry is met with strange, unwelcoming energy as they begin to settle in.

Inside, they discover instructions telling them they can choose any rooms because the caretaker's wing is currently uninhabitable. They start settling in despite the odd rule and eerie atmosphere.

Drake meets Harrison Dent, a paranormal investigator who has come to the property. Drake is skeptical, but Dent explains his theory about hauntings and offers to help the family deal with the spirits.

Haley becomes trapped when the basement door locks from the outside. The family tries to contact the police, but their call is hindered by static and interference.

The family is haunted by a procession of apparitions known as Winchester Tormentors. When two police officers arrive to respond to the disturbance, Mrs. Winchester uses a ghostly wind to fling them off the porch and impales them on nearby branches, killing them.

Susan contacts Dent, who explains different types of spirits and suggests communicating with the one haunting them. They realize the spirit may be Sarah Winchester’s, and Kent begins to call Annie’s spirit while warning that this could awaken the Tormentors, so he starts drawing a protective circle.

As the circle is formed, Mrs. Winchester interrupts and launches Kent into the fireplace, killing him. Susan completes the circle to protect herself and Drake, while the immediate danger subsides for the moment.

A deaf former employee, James Clayhill, appears and lures them to the attic. They uncover a large chest containing the mummified remains of Annie, Mrs. Winchester’s daughter.

Mrs. Winchester’s ghost appears and shifts from demonic to angelic as Annie’s and James’s spirits disappear. Music emanates from inside a hidden wall, hinting that some closure may come at a cost, and the family realizes the house's danger may still linger.
