Halloween Is Grinch Night

A sour sweet wind blows through Whoville, and the entire village locks down in dread. The wind is seen as an omen, foreshadowing trouble and churning fear across the town.

The wind wakes the gree-grumps from their tree stump slumbers around Punkers Pond and they begin yowling. Their cries trigger a chain reaction, upsetting the pond and awakening other creatures nearby.

The yowling rises up Mount Crumpett and signals that Grinch Night has begun. The omen prompts the Grinch to set his plan into motion.

The Grinch commands his dog Max to retrieve the Paraphernalia Wagon and begins his journey from the mountain toward Whoville. Their goal is to reach Whoville for Grinch Night and the Grinch Night Ball.

Sergeant Samuel McPherson tracks the Grinch's progress along the route and updates the Whos about how close he is to reaching Whoville. His reports keep the town on alert as hope and fear alternate in the citizens. The tense monitoring adds a human thread to the chase.

Euchariah, a young Who with astigmatism, is carried by the wind to Mount Crumpett, where he meets the Wuzzy Woozoo and Max. The Grinch spots him, gives him a brief spook, and decides the boy is too small to waste time on, resuming his trek.

The Grinch decides Euchariah is too small to waste time on and pushes onward toward Whoville. He leaves the youngster behind as the Paraphernalia Wagon rattles down the road.

Determined to protect his town, Euchariah hatches a plan to hold up the Grinch. He catches up to the Grinch's wagon and forces him to stop twice, buying precious moments for the town.

The Grinch ushers Euchariah to the top of the Paraphernalia Wagon for a surreal nightmare of spooks and monsters. Euchariah endures the terrifying vision long enough for the storm to die down, and the Grinch is forced to abandon the journey and return home.

Max, depressed but loyal, refuses to return with the Grinch and instead follows Euchariah back home. The two are greeted as heroes in Whoville, a small triumph for the boy and his faithful dog.

Back in his lair, the Grinch laments missing the Grinch Night Ball and ponders the town's celebration with begrudging envy. He admits the plan failed to ruin the night.

Despite the failure, the Grinch smiles with a sinister laugh and declares that the wind will return. He vows to come back someday, hinting at a future attempt to steal Grinch Night again.
