Skylar Lewis, a fearless 15-year-old with a powerhouse singing voice, gears up for the ultimate Halloween Bash with her best friends, Henry and Sadie. The plan quickly hits a snag: Henry is frozen in fear, rendered immobile by his own personal monster, and is briefly carried back home by Cobb, the trusted assistant to Skylar’s parents, to figure out how to restore him.

Meanwhile, Deimata uses a cruel ruse to lure Skylar’s parents—Julie Lewis and Steve Lewis—into a trap by pretending Skylar is in trouble. At home, Skylar’s rival, Myra, voiced with menace as she indulges ice cream while dealing with her own peril—Myra is momentarily under Deimata’s reach. The red veil of smoke erupts and transforms into the monstrous Deimata, who then takes control of Myra and heads to the party to attack Skylar’s confidence in front of everyone. The scene turns chaotic as a possessed Myra taunts Skylar for being nervous about singing, and Sadie steps in to offer comfort.
