Golgo 13: The Professional

Golgo is hired to assassinate Robert Dawson, the heir of Dawson Enterprises. He succeeds in killing the target, triggering a chain of revenge and further assignments. The job cements Golgo's reputation and sets the rest of the story in motion.

Golgo infiltrates Dr. Z's organization and even sleeps with Dr. Z's daughter, Cindy. He survives an ambush laid by Dr. Z's henchmen. This marks the start of Golgo's ongoing confrontation with Dr. Z's powerful network.

Golgo calls Cindy to reveal that she is actually Dr. Z. Later, he kills her while she is at a beach, ending that dangerous cat-and-mouse chapter.

Golgo escapes ambushes by US Special Forces Lieutenant Bob Bragan and three CIA agents. He survives the assault and continues his ascent toward his next target.

Golgo's local contact, a clockmaker, is murdered by Snake, a genetically enhanced supersoldier. The murder signals that Golgo's enemies are closing in and that someone will stop at nothing to capture or kill him.

Leonard Dawson, now consumed by revenge for his son's death, rallies support from the Pentagon, the FBI, and the CIA to destroy Golgo. He threatens to halt his company's operations if Golgo isn't eliminated, leveraging economic power to force action.

A wealthy Holocaust survivor in San Francisco hires Golgo to kill an ex-Nazi official. With the help of Rita, Golgo completes the kill, but Bragan's forces attack and Golgo is wounded.

Snake locates and murders Rita, Golgo's ally. The loss compounds Golgo's peril as his enemies tighten their net.

Pablo, Golgo's informant in the Amazon, helps him uncover who arranged the hit on him. Golgo then travels to Miami to rest and recuperate.

Emily tries to shoot Golgo at the airport, but the shot misses. Golgo kills Albert, the butler who reaches for a handgun during the ensuing chaos.

In New York, Golgo learns that Dawson is holed up in Dawson Castle. Pablo tries to shoot Golgo, but Golgo kills him in self-defense.

Golgo ascends to the top floor of Dawson Castle while helicopter gunships fire on him. He fights Snake in an elevator; the helicopter destroys the elevator, killing Snake. Gold and Silver ambush Golgo; Golgo bludgeons Gold to death, then kills Silver with a grenade forced into his mouth.

Dawson admits defeat and attempts suicide by leaping from the window. Golgo shoots him in the head as he falls, and his death is ruled accidental by the authorities.

Later, Golgo encounters Laura, Robert's widow, who recognizes him. She hesitates to shoot him, then fires as the scene fades.

Golgo walks away into the night, leaving Laura and the ruined world behind. The credits roll, and Golgo's fate remains ambiguous.
