Ghost Train

A mysterious woman warns Takeshi that he will die if he picks up the ticket inside a red bag. She speaks in ominous terms about his fate, setting a supernatural tone. The warning foreshadows the danger surrounding the ticket and what may follow.

Takeshi steps onto the subway car, but is suddenly dragged out when the conductor is distracted by a figure outside. The train makes a brief, unsettling stop as the danger passes momentarily. This incident hints at a looming curse tied to the ticket.

The next day, Noriko discovers the ticket and shows it to her sister Nana. Nana looks at the ticket and experiences a vision of a baby and its mother, linking the ticket to a haunting past. The vision deepens the mystery surrounding Yaeko and the bag.

While waiting for the train, Noriko spots Takeshi and tries to follow him. She ends up losing him in the crowd, increasing the sense that something supernatural is guiding or obstructing his movements. The mystery remains unresolved for the moment.

Nana contacts train conductor Shunichi Kuga to investigate the ticket. From the name Yaeko Aonuma on the ticket, she learns it has been returned to the lost-and-found multiple times and that all those who returned it later died. The victims share two distinct marks: black facial lines and dark eyes.

Nana visits Takeshi's apartment, but he appears naked and pale with dark marks on his face and dark eyes. His mother babbles that he is no longer Takeshi, confirming a terrifying transformation linked to the ticket’s curse. The home becomes a scene of unnerving, otherworldly change.

Kanae Fujita receives a bracelet from her boyfriend that turns out to be a cursed trinket. That night, the boyfriend is possessed, chokes Kanae, and dies as a voice warns her to beware of Yaeko. The possession marks Kanae as the next link in the haunting chain.

Kanae is pursued by Yaeko's spirit and bumps into Nana at the station. They decide to tackle the mystery together and plan to meet the next day, though Nana must stay with her sick mother. Later, a mysterious hand saves Kanae from almost certain doom on the tracks.

Nana asks Kuga for more information; he reveals Yaeko was a pregnant woman who gave birth to her baby just after being hit by a train and then died. The baby's fate remains unknown, deepening the tragedy behind the haunting. This backstory reframes Yaeko as part of a larger, tragic lineage.

The mysterious woman who saved Kanae earlier drives Kanae toward the station, hopeful to help Nana as well. Yaeko hijacks the car on the way, ending the rescue attempt and sealing Kanae's grim fate. The confrontation tightens the group’s resolve to confront Yaeko in the depths.

With Kuga's help, they descend to the deeper parts of the subway. Nana experiences another vision, learning there was already a spirit inhabiting the subway and that Yaeko is simply another victim undone by the haunting. The sorrowful spirit then overcomes the original and becomes the dominant haunter.

A passage behind the tunnel walls leads to a hidden chamber where ancient statues and Noriko rest atop a mountain of corpses. Yaeko appears and the woman who saved Kanae confronts her, ultimately being stabbed by a stalagmite. Nana learns from the woman’s scars that she is Yaeko's long-lost baby.

As the bodies reanimate, Nana and Noriko race back toward Kuga's train. Nana nearly falls into an endless chasm but is rescued by her sister and Kanae's spirit. They reclaim the train and rush back toward safety.

The train is steered back to the station by Kuga, bringing the immediate threat to a halt. The mission to seal the subway to prevent further hauntings is set in motion. The party regroups after their perilous journey.

The next day, Nana and Noriko visit their recovering mother at home, signaling a fragile return to normalcy. Nana learns that Kuga has ordered an explosion to seal the subway forever. On a bench outside, she meets Kanae's spirit, shares a quiet smile, and watches Kanae disappear.
