Dharamchand, the chairman of Olympic Bank, stands under the weight of an impending final audit at the end of the month. Soon after, his daughter Hema Hema Malini discovers his body in his bedroom, and a suicide note is found in the same room. The note claims Dharamchand had embezzled 20 lakhs from the bank, cannot repay it, and has chosen to end his life. To protect the family’s good name, Ratan Amitabh Bachchan makes a quiet, difficult decision: keep the suicide note a secret and shield Hema and the rest of the family from the truth.

A blackmailer named Shekhar soon enters the scene, pressing Ratan to participate in a bank robbery that will take place just two days before the audit. The plan goes ahead, the money is looted, every bank record is burned, and the robbers vanish into the night. Relief flickers for a moment as the world remains unaware, but danger returns when Hema reveals she saw some of the robbers in action and can identify one of them—Shobha Bindu Desai.

When Sagar Jeetendra arrives from Delhi, the atmosphere tightens. Sagar is not merely a friend; he is a CBI officer tasked with uncovering evidence for the Olympic Bank robbery. Through his inquiry, the prime suspect starts to tilt toward Madan Prem Chopra, a man who is Ratan’s closest ally, complicating loyalties and trust. Ratan and Sagar assemble Shobha, urging her to speak openly about Madan, hoping to unlock the truth that could vindicate or ruin them all.

The tension escalates as Madan moves to silence the trail. He shoots Shobha during the questioning, and as she dies, she admits a shocking truth: Dharamchand did not kill himself; he was murdered by Madan, who had pilfered 20 lakhs from the bank and simply did not want to repay the debt. The revelation shatters the façade of respectability surrounding the family and exposes a web of deceit woven around money, friendship, and duty. The film unfolds as a careful, morally charged unraveling of who is willing to do what to protect or destroy a family’s honor, leaving the audience to weigh justice against loyalty in a story rooted in ambition, crime, and the costs of keeping dangerous secrets.
