Bretlee, Bitthiri Satthi, then orders Shankar’s assassination, and a violent confrontation ensues. A flashback reveals Shankar’s past, when he was Bhola, a ruthless Hyderabad thug. After being stabbed by enemies, he is saved by Mahalakshmi. Alexander arrives in Kolkata seeking vengeance for his brothers’ deaths. He kills a port officer who refuses to help him and uses a police informer to locate Shankar. When Mahalakshmi sketches Shankar’s face by accident, she tries to mislead Alexander, but Shankar intervenes. Alexander’s men confront him, and the informer’s threat fails to derail him, though the informer is killed in a tense standoff. During a shopping trip, Alexander taunts Shankar by threatening to kidnap Mahalakshmi, and when she disappears, Shankar discovers her in Alexander’s warehouse. Misled by Alexander into believing Mahalakshmi is dead, Shankar races to find her alive in his car. With her memory returning, Mahalakshmi helps Shankar locate and rescue her.
