Garfield’s Halloween Adventure

Garfield is awakened by Binky the Clown on TV and learns that today is Halloween. He becomes excited about trick-or-treating and the candy he hopes to collect tonight. The idea of spooky possibilities for the night fills him with anticipation.

After tricking Odie about trick-or-treat rules, Garfield and Odie head to the attic to find costumes. They rummage through an old trunk and flip through various outfits. Garfield decides that he and Odie will become pirates for the night.

Garfield and Odie head out trick-or-treating through the neighborhood, eager for candy. They encounter other children in costumes and continue from house to house as night falls.

Odie is frightened by some scary costumes, and Garfield reassures him that the figures are just kids in disguise. They lift a few masks to reveal the characters are more eerie than ordinary costumes.

By nightfall they arrive at a boat dock and decide to cross the river to reach more houses. The plan promises further adventures beyond the neighborhood.

Odie misinterprets Garfield's command and throws the oars overboard, leaving their boat adrift. The current carries them downstream toward unknown places as darkness deepens.

The boat drifts to an abandoned dock beside a run-down mansion. Inside, they meet an old man who sits in an armchair and tells a ghostly treasure tale tied to pirates. The tale hints at a centuries-old oath and a mystery they can't yet solve.

The man reveals he was the ten-year-old cabin boy who served the pirates and hints at a missing crew. Garfield asks him to join the adventure, but the man suddenly disappears.

Running out of the house, they watch helplessly as the man steals their boat, stranding Garfield and Odie once more. The eerie theft raises the stakes of their quest.

Midnight chimes from the mansion as a ghostly ship materializes on the river and pirate ghosts rise from the water. The spirits begin reclaiming their buried treasure from the mansion's floorboards, forcing Garfield and Odie to find cover.

Garfield and Odie hide in a cupboard to avoid detection. Odie's sneeze betrays their location, revealing them to the ghosts. They sprint for safety and leap into the river to escape.

Odie must rescue Garfield, who cannot swim, as they struggle to reach the shore. They lose Garfield's pirate hat in the chaos but manage to reach land together.

They are washed ashore and discover their boat is intact with candy still inside, untouched by the haunting events. The candy remains a small victory after the perilous night.

They head home with the candy, and Garfield reluctantly shares his loot with Odie as thanks for saving him. The moment reinforces their uneasy partnership after a spooky night.

Back at home, Garfield realizes the old man was actually the host of a late-night pirate movie festival on TV. The realization makes the adventure feel like fiction, not danger. Garfield turns off the TV and, content, falls asleep as Halloween ends.
