Garfield on the Town

Jon Arbuckle grows concerned about Garfield and Odie after they mess up his house at the start of the special. He drives Garfield to the pet hospital, but a mishap sends Garfield tumbling out of the car and into a chaotic downtown, where he stumbles into a large gang of unfriendly alley cats known as the Claws. The family members reveal themselves to be capable mousers, a revelation that both surprises and unsettles Garfield. As the Claws close in on the abandoned restaurant, the relatives decide to stand together and defend Garfield, rather than surrender him. The confrontation with the Claws unfolds with grit and courage, and the Claws are ultimately driven off by the unified resolve of Garfield’s kin.

In the aftermath, [Grandfather] urges Garfield to return to Jon’s care and begin a new chapter with the stability of a normal home. A quiet sign of hope arrives as his mother follows him to ensure he has truly returned to Jon’s care. With a soft, heartfelt smile, Garfield acknowledges her presence, whispering a grateful, if understated, farewell to the moment: > “Thanks Mom, for everything.”
